Fantastic location right by Wells Cathedral.
Pros:

Good breakfast, even though you had to ask specifically for the breakfast menu since staff did not offer it at the table. Parking on site was handy.

Cons:

The room was a bit dated and the bed was a bit on the hard side.

Excellent
Pros:

Great location, staff very helpful and pleasant, food was excellent and very affordable.

Cons:

Nothing to do with hotel but it was very hot during our visit, making it difficult to get around to see Wellls, however we managed and it's a beautiful place, got bus to Glastonbury, worth a visit.

It was a good stay with most staff being very amicable and great location
Pros:

Location was why we booked this hotel. Room had good facilities and was a good size, but hot as no aircon due to it being an old coaching ion and room overlooked a main road and so noisy at night.

Cons:

Breakfast was expensive at £16 per person ( we had the buffet breakfast) and so definately wouldn't add on again due to large number of local places to eat in the morning / night.
Glad we brought our smallest car as access to rear car park is tight with two sharp turns and narrow access due to it being a a old coaching inn. But it was free parking - so just be aware if driving.

Everything is in reach of this charming hotel.
Pros:

Location is fabulous. Staff were all lovely. Property is very charming and comfortable.

Cons:

Really needs some bathroom updates and more walk in showers rather than showers over baths.

We all had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend The Swan .
Pros:

Fabulous room, we had a suite and it did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect.

Cons:

We couldn’t really fault anything. Bring picky , it would have been nice if the outdoor area overlooking the Cathedral had stayed open a little longer. We were sat outside along with several other residents and were told to leave as they wanted to lock the gates. It was around 10.30pm on a Saturday. Not a massive issue but it was a beautiful evening and it would have been nice to have been able to enjoy the view for a little longer.

Pros:

The food from the restaurant was amazing. Highly recommend it.
View from our bedroom window

Cons:

We had breakfast, and as we were soon to our seats, we were asked what we wolike to drink, tea or coffee. We adk for both and mixed toast. We were having our breakfast, still waiting for our drink when another gentleman walked in. Was shown to his seat and asked tea and coffee? He hadn't even sat down when when his tea was there. I then called over the chap, and I asked where ours was. He said it's coming. Not happy as the rest of the staff are wonderful!

Pros:

The location and the Staff were wonderful. Very clean.

Cons:

The room was so lovely but we were out above a generator or extractor fan that was really loud and went on all night. Things like this don't really affect me but this really impacted my sleep continually. It was so disappointing as I loved the hotel so much.

Second time here - rather grand, with one problem.
Pros:

We have stayed here before in the stunning city of Wells and the previous time I gave it 5 out of 5 but this time, sadly not.

On the plus side, the hotel with it's associated bar and restaurant is stunning. Really classy in a great central location. The room itself was huge with everything you need in it - and seeing as we stayed during 35+ temperatures, the air con was very much appreciated.

Breakfast was a buffet style thing which personally I think could do with having a bit more room to negotiate, but was very nice - all piping hot and continually refreshed.

A really nice team working there, very helpful and friendly.

The location is very central, everything within a short walk -- the cathedral, Vicar's Close and a plethora of pubs, cafes and shops.

The one star loss was due to the car park. The last time I stayed there I was impressed by the size of it, hence why I didn't hesitate to book it again. However, upon arrival I discovered that over half the car park was taken over by a car convention. This, on it's own, is not an issue - however I wasn't informed about it beforehand or I would have researched other places to park.

The team did help out with other places to park but considering it cost £446 for two nights BnB out of the holiday season - they shouldn't really have to be doing that...

A good place to stay in Wells
Pros:

The location is excellent for exploring Wells. The Swan is an old coaching in and therefore has some quaint aspects, but we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Cons:

We were forewarned about parking arrangements through the information on the hotel website. Access to the car park is tricky and spaces are limited.

Great atmosphere
Pros:

We stayed here for two nights from 2-4 of july and had the rooms 26 (deluxe suit) and 60 (twin). Two years ago we stayed at Georges hotel in Dorchester on Thames where hotel manager Gordon then worked. We were happy to se him doing wonders with The Swan now. We loved the location in the centre of town, and we also loved the beergarden where we sat both nights drinking and looking at the beautiful cathedral. The staff were polite and funny and the breakfast was superb with everything we could ask for. Not one of us ordered from the menu as the buffet was plenty enough. And Gordon himself managed the breakfast on the first morning, that says a lot about how he runs a hotel. The only down thing was that my parents staying in the suit could not sleep well on the friday night due to noise from the street but on the other hand, as they said: that´s the price we happily pay to live so close to the center.

Cons:

isolation des fenêtres
