Lovely hotel
Pros:

Lovely hotel in a great location. Room was very comfortable and large. Breakfast was good, staff friendly and efficient. Would recommend.

Cons:

The car park is on the small side and a bit of a challenge if you have a larger car.

Lovely room for able bodied people.
Pros:

We had a lovely dinner and we enjoyed our room.

Cons:

I actually asked for a quiet table for dinner, and for a room facing the cathedral for our anniversary. The terrible weather and our frailty made getting to and from our room via too many stairs also added to our dismay. The disabled parking was unavailable and where we had to park - the very far corner - was very much not our desire and made us both very anxious on what should have been a calm stay. It was an horrendous end to our stay getting out of it, and far too stressful.

Pros:

Loved the location, room size, friendliness of the staff. Breakfast was lovely and the finish room was spacious so guests weren’t all on top of each other we will be back

Cons:

Housekeeping came in the afternoon which was unusual but that could have been to the hotel being busy

A lovely stay apart from problems with parking.
Pros:

The hotel was lovely, full of olde world charm. The meals were excellent too, and the staff friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The only downside was the parking. We knew the hotel only had a small car park, but by arriving at 3.15 we expected to find a place. Unfortunately it was full, and I then spent ages trying to find suitable parking elsewhere. I was directed to a street offering free roadside parking some 10 minutes walk away but it was full. The first public park I came to only offered short term parking, and the second one mentioned all day parking without specifying overnight use. I tried downloading its App, which then wasn’t responding, and eventually paid for 2 hours at a machine (I found one that was working after the first one I tried was out of action) to take me up to 6 pm, by which time there was more roadside parking available - so I had to go back to move the car. It wasn’t a great start to what was otherwise a lovely stay at The Swan. I think the advice given by the hotel on finding suitable alternative parking could have been much better.

Disappointing
Pros:

Wells city which is wonderful

Cons:

Stayed here many times, Emailed hotel three times about this issue to try and avoid a negative reply. This time radiator not working, room cold, no tea bags, no milk, Had to ask 3 times to fix it. Not the staffs fault who were helpful and clearly very busy. I note reception desk is now halved with 50% less receptionists. On leaving no one said did you enjoy your stay and unhappy they did not rely to email.
