Highly recommended
Pros:

This was my second time staying at Amsterdam, and it is always a pleasure to be back. The personnel is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a clean, safe and tidy neighborhood close to the university. While still being close to city center you don't have to deal with sketchy areas like the central station here.

The rooms are also super nice. Even though my booking said shared bathroom it was actually a private one, just on the other side of the hallway. The room was very clean, the building is an old classical one with beautiful floors, tall ceilings and nice details.

If you are going to Hamburg this hotel is an obvious choice.

Pros:

When I booked the room, the description said it had shared bathroom, however the bathroom was private (it was couple of steps through coridor not in my room but noone else used it, it had my room number on it and it opened with a separate key).
I really liked the wooden furniture and that the doors opened with real keys not with a card.
The receptionist was wonderfully helpful.

Cons:

The lighting of the room could have been better and the pillow was not the kind I'd like, but over all the room was very nice.

super leckeres Frühstück - sehr liebevoll zubereitet.
die lage ist unschlagbar! stadtradstation direkt vor der haustür. zum bahnhof damtor 5 minuten zu fuss.

God placering. Et familieværelse med gode senge. Et 2 personers værelse med virkelig dårlig seng. Gulve knager og døren binder.
Der er rent.
På de forskellige etager i bygningen ligger forskellige hoteller.

Ansprechendes Gebäude, gute Lage zum Kongresszentrum. Grosse Zimmer. Bequemes Bett. Freundliches Personal.

Cons:

Das erste Zimmer war ohne Schreibtisch und Stuhl, so dass man nicht am Laptop arbeiten konnte. Der Spiegel im Bad war viel zu hoch. Aber wir durften das Zimmer nach der ersten Nacht wechseln. Das Frühstück war nicht besonders. Wir haben es nur 1x ausprobiert. Danach haben wir uns nur Kaffee auf's Zimmer geholt.

Very enjoyable stay (with minor drawbacks).
Pros:

I had a very pleasant stay overall. The room was super spacious, spotlessly clean (with no carpets!), quiet, and well equipped (for example there was a proper hairdryer). As I was pregnant, I was a little worried about the breakfast options, but there were plenty of safe and delicious choices available. The location is perfect if you're visiting the university or the congress centre, and I was able to visit all the main touristic spots by foot as well. Really easy connection to the airport by train. Definitely good value for money for Hamburg.

Cons:

The Wi-Fi in our room was very poor, so if you need a reliable connection, perhaps explicitly request a room with goof Wi-Fi. Reception was also a bit unreliable, I went there a couple of times during opening hours but found the door locked with no one answering. The staff serving breakfast may not be super fluent in English, so if you have particular requests, I'd recommend learning how to make it in German. Finally, the room soundproofing could have been better, as noise from neighbouring rooms (coughing, phone calls) was quite noticeable.
