- the terrace
- good water pressure
- old springy mattress. The fourth bed was a foam mat thrown on the floor. And we had to explicitly ask for an extra pillow and a blanket although the booking was for 4 people.
- upon arrival we were greeted by 3 stray dogs and an attendant who was washing his feet on the hotel stairs. I thought it was quite bizarre. The first question we were asked was how we would pay for the balance (we had already prepaid 50% of the bill) not a "welcome to Jaipur, how was your flight" ... nothing
- A new gentleman showed up at the reception after 3 days or so. He certainly was more customer oriented than his predecessor
- every night there is Rajasthani live music. Every night. Which again may be ok 1 night or 2 but after that you really want some quiet time at night while you admire the fort especially after being traumatized by Jodhpur traffic during the day....
- the hotel is close to the market area and is surrounded by garbage and roaming cows which graze on the garbage. This is obviously not hotel responsibility but people need to know what the surroundings truly look like
- room finishings were lacking (scuffs on wall, bad paint jobs, cracks, no caulking etc etc., pictures are doctored)
- lounge chairs were heavily stained and bed linen were tired
- the breakfast was poor and the western options even more (sliced bread from the bag, butter and honey, one day I was able to get something resembling strawberry jam).
- I hate saying it but one of the attendants serving breakfast emanated a strong body odor which you could smell without getting too close
- the Kankariya charges western rates but it is still worlds away from providing western standards.
- I hate saying it but we won't be back and we do not recommend western customers staying there at this price point
Agréable séjour dans ce bel hôtel à courte distance de la Clocktower.
Grande chambre bien équipée. Personnel très serviable. Beau roof top restaurant avec musique le soir.
It was unique and well-appointed, especially for the price. The dinner was included and they had live musicians on the rooftop, with the fort lit up in the background. Also, after our stay, we ended up sitting next to the hotel's owner on the airplane and he was so helpful to arrange a car to pick us up at the airport (after our original flight was rerouted to a different destination). That was above and beyond!
We weren't aware that Ubers would not pick it up at this location, due to the tight streets. And we had a lot of luggage (due to the great gifts we were bringing home for everyone). But the front desk gentleman was very helpful and got us 2 tuk tuks and it all worked out.
Hotel is nice, but overpriced and staff is rude.
They don't even give one extra water bottle even after charging hefty amount and even though hotel is located in main market and nearby to fort and other things but location Is very bad inside Gali very dirty area and difficult to find and go via cab specially
Location is good and roof top restaurant is very good.
Rooms were suffocating. Staff was unfriendly and non cooperative. Lift broke down and nothing was done for it. Food was so expensive.
Cleanliness and the location
Not value for money. It did not feel luxurious or premium for the money we spent. It did not have mini fridge inside the room which other hotels have at this price point. The lift was not operational due to power cut which should be operational on power backup. Overall feel and experience was like mid category hotel rooms.
average
There are lots of problems with this hotel: 1. Access to the hotel, 2. The rooms are not soundproof, 3. Noise from dogs howling outside and other residents in the hotel interferes with sleep at night.
Cleanliness and staff behaviour.
Hotel Location and room size.
Rooftop
No safe in the bedroom
The owners went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.
Location is bad. The road leading to the hotel had a drainage problem for a couple of days while we were staying there, and we had to wade through the filth to get off the property. The road to the hotel is too narrow for vehicles (photos attached). Don't blindly follow google maps. Ask the hotel for directions.
The hotel does not offer Non-Veg food, not even eggs. I am not sure whether it was mentioned, or if I noticed it while booking.
The food was not even okay. Every day, we ended up getting a cold breakfast, which was challenging to eat. We preferred eating at other restaurants.
Mostly good and we enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable and had a good view - try to get a higher floor. Owners are helpful and dedicated. Staff for the most part is helpful and kind. We were satisfied with our stay. I liked that the whole family could stay in one room and we were all comfortable. We also booked a camel safari through the hotel and they organized transport etc. I think the location was good as it is in the old part of town near the market.
The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Not much on offer; one day they did not have any fruit but I am sure it would have cost the same as if it did. But you can get a la carte, which we did for a bowl of cereal and some toast. Also the first night dogs were fighting all night long. I didn't sleep. One staff member had to call the boss for every single thing/question/interaction. took us forever to check out.
