THINGS WE DID NOT LIKE.
We have stayed here a couple of times before, and been happy. This time it was poor. The shower area was the worst. The shower hose attachment was broken, so we couldn’t use it. We had to hold the hose, not easy when soaping down. We had to turn water down in both shower and sink to allow water to run away as they kept filling up up and making popping noises. The vanity light behind the sink was not working, neither was the heated towel rail. The soap dispensers were both empty and we only had a half of one toilet roll. The wonky floor creaked dreadfully and we felt bad about moving around incase we disturbed other guests.
We never had any staff come to our room whilst we were there. After the first day we had to keep going to reception for things such as tea, coffee, milk, toilet roll, soap, and our bin was never emptied all the time we were there. It was brimming over by the time we left, not good in that heat. If we were supposed to request a staff visit, we should have been advised.
THINGS WE DID LIKE..
The Unicorn is ideally positioned, making it a perfect place to stay.
Parking is also very good.
We ate superb evening meals and every member of staff we spoke with during our stay was very kind, courteous, and helpful.
Location
The rooms were very dated could do with a good clean especially the bathroom
Staff were exceptional, large car park at rear. Room was comfortable
Car park at front was almost totally full of cars from staff and customers of the restaurant next door.
Both soap dispensers in the bathroom and shower were broken.
The shower was very mouldy, and the ceiling looked to be about to collapse
Respectful and courteous staff.
Oil on side salad,no safety bar over bath, very dusty on wardrobe and under bed,no hooks for hanging towels etc, mark on duvet cover and poor water quality.
Overall very pleased and would stay again.
There are a few bad points but huge amount of good points.Wonderful, helpful, hardworking and happy staff.
stayed here before numerous times, lovely quaint village type area, food at the restaurant is lovely
The staff were friendly and helpful, we had dinner in the evening, the menu had plenty of choice the food was excellent and well priced. The room was clean and comfortable it had all we needed for 2 nights.
The room was tight, it had all we needed but not much space, the bathroom was clean and well equipped, however it could do with an upgrade of the shower screen.
The staff were very friendly
The bedroom was very warm as there was no air conditioning and plaster was peeling off the ceiling within the shower.
