Value for money
Pros:

Excellent carpets, super comfy bed,clean throughout,good facilities and nice flexibility towards breakfast choices.

Cons:

Bathroom needed tlc.
Toilet seat broken,taps loose, shelf needs moving as you can't fill up kettle easily or brush teeth without making a mess

Alex & Mel were a credit to the Swan, Professional and attentive. Great Stay.
Pros:

On arrival, I was immediately greeted by a friendly member of staff and the place had a warm feeling as a first impression. I confirmed my reservation and Mel immediately attended to my needs, offering a sample of the local ales! The room was neatly presented , with and old fashion feel and a quirky name (Slumbering Monk). On returning to the bar area the fire was well ablaze and few of the local clientele had arrived. providing good banter and few stories.
I finally decided on my menu selection, on what I would view as covering all the bases without being overly extensive. Perfectly cooked and served in good time as was the breakfast. compliments to the chef.

Comfy and welcoming
Pros:

Relaxed, real ale, good service, comfy bed, lovely food and made to feel welcome

Cons:

There was an event on but although there was a little noise it stopped promptly and we had the tv on anyway.

A beautifully presented hotel with an exceptionally warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Pros:

I loved how welcoming and homely it felt from the moment I arrived, along with the spotless rooms and beautifully chosen décor.
The food was locally sourced and cooked beautifully.

Cons:

Nothing at all - everything and everyone exceeded expectations.

Avoid the Monkey Room
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent as long as you don't ask for marmalade for your toast. Great friendly staff.

Cons:

The room was not very practical . The monkey bedside lamps had no shades on them and at bedtime, the bright lights are too bright.
The shower room was very small and a glass shelf just above the basin covered up half of the basin. Cleaning your teeth was not easy without hitting your head on the glass shelf! Spitting into the basin was near impossible without twisting your head around.

The manager was very welcoming and helpful. All the staff were friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable. The hotel had a good atmosphere. I would definitely recommend.

Pros:

Lovely historic building. Our room was well appointed and spacious, the bed was really comfortable and all spotlessly clean. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming, ensuring we had a great stay. Great full English breakfast included. Perfect location for exploring Newport, Ironbridge and surrounding areas. This was our second visit to The Swan Hotel and we will definitely be back.

Fantastic. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others
Pros:

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and they couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms were very spacious and felt new and clean.

Cons:

One minor thing - no full length mirror in the room. My sister in laws room had one but ours didn’t.
