Lovely room
Disappointed with food and limited times for breakfast- we had 0945 which was late. Price of drinks was expensive as was the dinner
Rooms were excellent as were facilities. Views from rooms are superb!! Reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast buffet was poor as was service!
pool sauna
nothin
Very clean and easy access.
Nothing
Lovely views from our room
Needs a wee but if TLC
Perfect location with scenic views. Comfy bed and pillows. Great power shower.
Trivial but only 1 packet of biscuits for 2 ppl in a room. Bad reception amd wifi dropped in our bedroom where we had to use up mobile data.
At breakfast the buffet wouldve been satisfactory if it was all displayed but some pots were empty as ran out as we waited for it to be refilled. Left with very little on our plates. Never been in a hotel like this. Disappointing for a MacDonalds can only suggest food is ready to be replaced as soon as pots run empty.
Superb bedroom and bed, excellent clean modern bathroom.
Batr area small and golf bar not always open.
Location
Restaurant food, average and extremely expensive, carpet needed a deep clean.
The facilities and staff (not including the General Manager who has ignored our email of complaint).
General cleanliness was good.
Very worn bedroom. Torn shabby curtains. Dirty old divan bed base (although the rest of the hotel was clean). Juliette doors were drafty and you could hear traffic.
Terrible service at breakfast. Only 2 members of staff who could not cope with the demand. Waited over an hour to get our breakfast served to us - cold. Chef couldn’t even manage to make a scrambled egg in a 4* hotel. We witnessed other guests complaining and walking out without eating after waiting too long.
Menu at dinner was appalling. £22 for a ‘chicken tikka masala’ which was at best a small dry unseasoned breast of chicken sitting on a smear of sauce with a ramekin of rice. This was returned to the kitchen as the portion size was similar to a starter and what did they expect us to do with dry rice? Sausage and mash wasn’t much better. To be fair we should have checked the menu before we booked but hotel is not near another restaurant.
We last stayed at the Cardrona in 2019 and loved it then. MacDonald really need to invest in and improve this once beautiful hotel.
Most things were very good. The welcome from all staff. The cleanliness of every part of the hotel. Quality of the food and drinks all excellent.
The bed was too soft for our liking.
Excellent staff, very good food, comfortable rooms and good quality EV chargers which didn’t require an app to use.
Nothing, it was lovely
Great location, with beautiful scenery and walks. Gold course at the door. Rooms are light, nicely decorated and clean.
The restaurant let the stay down. First impression was it was dark and dreary in the evening- tea lights on the tables would have made all the difference. The starter was lukewarm but we didn’t mention it, thinking it was just a glitch. One main course, the gungy pizza, was inedible and it was taken off the bill at the end. We’ve had good meals here periodically over the years but if we stay again we’ll be eating elsewhere.
Lovely hotel, staff lovely, beds comfy, food lovely
Bar closed just after 9 down stairs on a Saturday night, lifts didn’t work luckily we requested a ground floor room.
Should have poached egg as an option as the scrambled egg was always sloppy…also have Netflix as an option for the tv
No option of Netflix on the tv and no fridge in the room, neighbours were a bit noisy the second nite so I got no sleep at all
