Great family weekend in house and cottage.
Pros:

Best breakfast anywhere - beautifully presented.
Staff superb without being condescending. Afternoon tea and scone every day.
The ground and gardens immaculate with lots of autumn colours.
Family fun with croquet, tennis, putting and spa.

Great property and a good place to stay for hiking in the area.
Pros:

The property was very nice with walking trails and gardens. The staff, excluding one person was very friendly and helpful. We were in the area to hike and there were many trails within a 30 minute drive of the property.

Cons:

The only negative with our stay was Calum. He was very condescending to guests making derogatory statements about us being Americans. Avoid this guy if possible during your stay.

A beautiful, elegant country house stay with stunning gardens.
Pros:

Like staying on the set of Pride and Prejudice. The gardens are stunning, the grounds have beautiful places to walk, and the accommodations and location are excellent. Good food, a nice bar, and very friendly, helpful staff.

Cons:

The atmosphere is quite formal and quiet, and it felt more like a polished hotel than a home. That's understandable since it's run by a trust, but it lacked a bit of personal warmth. It suits travelers who want a calm, traditional setting.

Beautiful gardens and peaceful surroundings in lovely countryside. The food was exceptional and the staff were brilliant. Plenty parking. A great gym and leisure facility. Near to Ballater, Balmoral and Aberdeen.

Wonderful retreat.
Pros:

Great location, attentive staff and an excellent dinner and wine selection. Welcoming afternoon tea with scones and adjacent leisure centre. Beautiful garden walk the following day after breakfast.
