Charming hotel with a lakeside view and great location
Pros:

This hotel is perfectly located on the lake and within walking distance of all the sights of Udaipur. We had a room with a small balcony and amazing views which we took full advantage of - coffee every morning, relaxing in the evening. We thought this hotel was great value for money. The main area downstairs was totally charming. Breakfast was a giant buffet and a friendly accommodating chef who made perfect eggs. Lovely traditional music while you eat. Service very attentive. Restaurant on the roof had a gorgeous view, served very good food and drinks, and service was flawless. The restaurant is a scene and booked every night but all we had to do was mention we were staying at the hotel, and they found a place for us. This made us feel special. We stayed 5 nights and we loved every minute of it.

Cons:

The bathrooms could have used some refreshing. They were clean, but dated. The entry courtyard could be upgraded. But we took into consideration the bargain price we were paying for a lake-view room. Had everything been 100% flawless, the rooms would have certainly been double or triple the price. We were happy with the tradeoff and would stay here again.

Perfect palace-like experience for solo female traveler
Pros:

Perfect location, staff are friendly, rooms are fit for royals, food is great. Waking up to the sound of temple bells and smell of incense from across the ghat.

Wonderful location with a chill vibe being on the side of the lake.
Pros:

Perfect location. Easy to get to the major spots. Lovely to be by the lake. Great food on the rooftop and views.

Pros:

A seedy, rundown hotel with old broken furniture. Room was not the one booked, coffee pot was broken, hair dryer did not work, and bedspread and pull curtains were filthy. Would never return.

Cons:

Cars cannot go into the old city so you need to transfer luggage and switch to an auto rickshaw to get to the hotel. Repeat the process upon departure. Outside areas were Astro turf and dead plants! Yucky dirty feeling to the whole hotel.

Worth a stay
Pros:

Location was really good, its hard to tell on a map how far things are and initially I thought I wanted to be on the other side of the lake nearer the city palace but it is only a few minutes walk from the hotel across the bridge to the palace. The hotel is lovely, rooms with balcony right on the lake and the rooftop terrace for dinner, what a view and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel
