Buen trato y limpio
Room and accommodating staff
To close to a noisy driveway.
The staff were wonderful even if we did not speak the same language. My kids loved the food. The location perfect for us. Beds were clean. Mattress so-so. Beautiful spot with the Colors and greenery
Bathroom sink was not super clean.
• The breakfast was quite big, and they were ready to replace the eggs with fruits, for the vegan that I am.
• They have several small shared areas that you can use as workspace. These were nicely shown to me by the landlady.
• The hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere, on a relatively busy road.
It is a stopover hotel, imho.
• Although I mentioned that I would arrive late at night, within a specific timeframe that I respected, and the hotel confirmed that this was ok with them, when I arrived, the hotel was closed, with no bell to ring.
I had to find back the second phone number of the hotel (the one mentioned in the booking was out of order) to wake up the owners in order for them to open the door.
• My room was located in an extension across the street, which is fine by me.
That said, the wifi was poor, both in ability to connect and in strength.
When I mentioned this to the landlady, she said that it's because the hotel is located in a small valley. [sic]
Which is true. That said, I fail to see how this can impact a wifi connection.
Nothing else was done to settle this, except inciting me to work across the street in the main building where the wifi was strong.
This is what pushed me to work outside of my room (cf. positive part of the guest review), which was not very convenient, as the seats are not very confortable and one can hear the noises made by others guests in the shared areas.
• The chairs at the desk in the room are not really confortable, and thus not suited to work for an extended period of time.
• No hot running water.
In the dry and hot season, it was okayish for me.
Except for shaving.
• No sink plug for the bathroom sink.
• The door handle of my room (all rooms?) are very easy to use, but in an usual way, which was confusing to understand beforehand if unexplained.
Very friendly staff, great location, traditional breakfast
A little noise from cars passing on the main street, as to be expected by any place on the main street
The staff was very friendly and for that money the conditions were great!
Nothing
The jacuzzi pool was relaxing.
Check the in room facilities. No coffee or tea.
We had a few problems and it is adjacent to a busy road used by freight. We had ants too. And pillows were lumpy. Toilet didn't flush correctly.
The hotel had enough parking spaces. The room was very big and nice, the jacuzzi was huge and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious. We also appreciate the location of the accommodation, as it has very good access to several volcanic parks.
The receptionist doesn't speak English at all, but together with google translate, we managed it. We would appreciate the possibility to put a "do not disturb" sign on the door. The window in the bathroom was broken and could not be closed completely.
- kind staff
- cheap!
- great food. I had hamburger & empanadas in the evening for $4. Great food!
- good place to take a rest on the way to La fortuna
