Lovely setting very clean
Garden room severely lacking in power points USB sockets would be handy, to be fair setting was fantastic attention to detail for weddings was exceptional, staff were very polite and extremely helpful, lighting in garden rooms was a tad dim, unless that intentional. My room was upgraded but sadly didn't include use of hot tub.
All in all a very expensive overnight stay.
Super location just a short walk from 2 wonderful beaches
Comfortable bed in garden room
We booked 3 nights at Newton Hall believing that we would experience all the facilities of a 5 star accommodation. However there were 3 consecutive weddings on each of our days and when we tried to explore the hotel we were told it was ‘exclusively’ for wedding guests. We feel that we should have been informed of this when booking.
Beautiful hall and location, nice welcoming staff and great breakfast
Although it was a wedding, the hotel was not really prepared. When we arrived really late all windows were open and the heating was not on (it was cold despite being June 😂). One window couldn’t be closed without someone climbing up. Morning after the wedding they started cleaning up super early and you could hear everything. Sleeping impossibly. For the money they are charging that should not happen. Drinks at the bar are ridiculously expensive
Newton Hall is located in quiet , rural surroundings. We stayed in one of the garden rooms , which are separate from the main Hall and furnished to a very high standard. Breakfast was provided at The Joiners Arms , a five minute walk away. We also had dinner there. The staff at the Arms were very friendly and the food was very good.
Garden room was very spacious and the grounds were cleverly laid out to provide some privacy. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. We had it in the hall rather than the Joiner's Arms but we ate at the pub all three nights of our stay and were happy with every meal. Lovely quiet location, well placed for getting to attractions in the area. The hall itself is beautiful and could see why it would be popular for weddings.
Dimmer switch in room was broken so turned all the way down but not completely off. No aircon but large sliding window helped airflow.
Friendly helpful staff and excellent location.
Our room was in the roof so restricted on one side
The lovely old building and the grounds.
The room was a bit small.
Lovely house and grounds, great staff, great breakfast.
Breakfast was good but had to walk to local pub
Price
Great location, nice local pub, breakfast was very good, pub staff very friendly, comfortable beds, nice linen and towels. The family suite we were moved to was much better quality than our first night.
I didnt like being informed on arrival that we were being upgraded due to refurbishment only to find the "upgrade" was clearly a suite that wasn't fit for purpose, broken lamp and lights, non operational fridge, bird poo everywhere, broken sliding door handle and frame, back yard overgrown and not able to use and the hot tub also not working, this was not an upgrade in any way, shape or form, I will be mindful next time I an offered an "upgrade" anywhere else. The only saving grace being offered alternative accommodation which definitely was an upgrade, I'm really not in the least bit impressed with the first night, suite no 28 should not be used to house anybody else until it's been refurbished
Staff amazing really looked after us Andrew was great
Nothing perfection at its finest
Loved the garden rooms but mightn't have been quite so keen if it was raining! Really nice breakfast and helpful staff
The deco and the location of the venue. The polite staff and how helpful they where
Only issue we had was the access from the car park. They had delivery’s and that means you can’t leave until they have finished unloading
Lovely, comfortable and spacious garden room. Beautiful grounds.
Having to go to pub for breakfast.
