EBO Hotel (Hangzhou West Lake)

Guests next door played loud music until 4am. Think the hotel should add something to the room rules about consideration of others

The small details are not well thought out. For example the vanity lighting is awful overhead light which gives terrible shadows and visibility if youre trying to do anything with your face in the mirror, the shower has a semi transparent wall directed toward the bed so your movements can be watched by anyone else in the room while showering, the soap dispenser seemed like something youd expect in a kids bathroom at a home, not a hotel (plastic with a worn off sticker on the front). And the extra hospitality was lacking, we had successfully been able to use our Australian plugs in a different hotel in Shanghai then found they wouldnt go in to any of the sockets in our room here, so asked for help and was given a single wall plug for a usb a cable (which all our cables were usb c so could not use our own) and the usb a to c cable given was about 10cm long. Asked for a longer cable and received a very long cable however it did not work at all. Between two people having to ration the charger was a little annoying. Also asked at the front desk to borrow umbrellas since it was raining and they handed us one which was broken and one which was stuck to itself and smelt like something vaguely rotting like it had had something split and go off in it. We only noticed this once opening the umbrellas outside to use them. These could have been avoided if there was a little more attention to the details like checking any cables given out are working, checking umbrellas are clean and not broken.

Staff should smile a bit more

晚上房間廁所傳來香煙味，應該是隔壁房有人吸煙

Music played every time you go in the room and you have to manually go to the knob to turn it off. TV turns on at the same time, when you turn it off, the speakers in the room make a feedback noise and you have to go to the knob again to turn that off.
Hotel staff didn't speak a speck of English, all communication with staff had to go through Google Translate and took its time. My Wi-Fi account wasn't activated the whole time I was there, even tho I raised the issue, but the language barrier took its toll there, I guess... No laundry service, however you can do it yourself. Very weird smell in the room upon arrival. Very close to road so don't have your window open at night if you want to get a good nights sleep because people use the horn 24/7 on their vehicles.

(1) The WiFi isn't stable and get off by itself while I tried to run some programs over night; hope the availability of paid WiFi (but only if it's stable and better) can be communicated well. (2) the shower area next to a bed is 50% transparent, which is quite awkward to my preference... It'll be better to have better light blockers for better privacy.

Rooms are clean but can be improved.

Wifi is not working well

Our airport transfer was not able to find the hotel at first. Additional information- hotel Chinese name is 亿伯酒店 maybe useful instead of EBO Hotel
