Quiet location on the edge of a village.
Very good value.
Quite dark and old-fashioned.
Basic but adequate breakfast, no fruit or anything cooked.
Friendly atmosphare. Quiet place. We stayed just 1 night but for it was perfect. The breakfast was Italian but abundant.
They have a restaurant. But we couldn't choose from a menu. It was 1 starter, 1 first meal and 1 main course.
Quality breakfast, with a wide range of foods and drinks
Our stay at La Masseria was absolutely amazing! The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and kind. We started as strangers but quickly became friends. Not for a moment did we feel like "just clients".
The staff at La Masseria went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and happy. They took care of our needs and shared local tips, helping us experience the authentic local culture. Their friendly and genuine nature created a strong bond with us.
The accommodation exceeded our expectations with clean, cozy rooms that had everything we needed. The attention to detail throughout the property made us feel right at home.
It is conveniently located near attractions and transportation, making it a perfect base for exploring the area. The staff's knowledge of the local area helped us discover hidden gems and make the most of our time.
We highly recommend La Masseria to anyone looking for a place where friendships are formed and cherished memories are made.
I just came back from a 15-day trip to Italy. I was travelling with a big group and La Masseria was the perfect place for us. It is rare to meet such an excellent staff in any hotel. Graziano the owner of the hotel is one of the warmest people I've met and together with his wonderful team did everything we asked and made sure they made our trip as amazing as possible. They we warm and friendly, the food was amazing and they made us feel like family.
Simple hotel with a nice breakfast: fresh croissants, pastries etc., not just the usual packaged items
Warm welcome, excellent hospitality, and tbe 'best' breakfast I've ever had travelling.
This would have to be the worst place we have ever stayed at. We are dumbfounded as to how it is considered a three star hotel. It's more like an overpriced hostel.
Noise- The walls and windows are paper thin. You hear everything. From plates being cleaned until 1.30am, music, diners in the restaurant below and people flushing toilets. Instead of waking up refreshed we were always sleep deprived. As there are no 'do not disturb' signs you even have cleaners knocking on your door.
Food - We booked the half board but after the first meal cancelled it. Disgusting tasteless meals. We have eaten better in work canteens. Don't be deceived by the images of the food on the website. We can guarantee that they have absolutely nothing to do with the half board food served. At the end of our stay Graziano even demanded that we pay for the meals not eaten. If you promote restaurant facilities you should be able to deliver. Instead they use the excuse "The restaurant isn't managed by us".
Shower- We had cold showers for the entire stay despite advising Carmine of this. His excuse "But the clients next to your room have hot showers". What on earth does the room next door have to do with our room?
Mattress- Our mattress was so old that we rolled into the middle of it. It was held up by blocks of wood(see photo).
Toilet -Constantly leaked water. This problem wasn't fixed either.
Swimming pool - The deck was held up by blocks of cement and wooden sticks, the majority hidden behind the Italian flag. A danger hazard which we believe does not conform to safety regulations (see photos).
WiFi - Non-existent in our room and in order to access it in the common areas you must accept to see annoying advertising.
Cleaning- Our room was cleaned well every day.
Staff - Carmine, Graziano and Katia are only nice if your able to overlook the numerous things that don't work in their hotel. At breakfast we were even purposely ignored by Katia who did not take our coffee order. We left after Katia had served everyone coffee accept us. Carmine's excuse " She was busy". There were only 10 people at breakfast.
There is a lack of professionalism in this place. We returned one evening to find Carmine lying on the red couch snoring.
Check out - We requested an invoice and were told that they were not able to give us one but would send it via email. We still have not received it. Even after sending them an email their excuse was " But we don't have your details" which is obviously not true.
I hope our experience will help you make an informed decision rather than being misled as we were. This hotel is full of excuses and zero solutions.
