Wouldn't do it again.
Pros:

The staff were quite friendly, though I feel their smiles masked the inadequacy of the lodging. The female toilet in the pub was quite nice in comparisson with the rest of the building.

Cons:

Only one shared shower for all females, two for males, dorm style. Broken toilet roll holder in females, so toilet roll was sat on sanitary bin. Mens toilet blocked and wouldnt flush. Bar fridge was not plugged in before arrival. The single twin beds were wobbly and dressed with Kmart brand manchester. No heating or air con in rooms, except for kmart brand electric blanket. Balcony was covered in a huge amount of collected bird droppings, like no one had ever thought to clean them. The concrete room echoed, held the cold and really could use updated carpet. The chicken schnitzel ordered for dinner was processed and not breast. Vegetarian option of pasta was not available, but they were happy to make a salad and chips.. infact, they had good chips. Beers were nearly $10 each. No internet reception, but was able to use the wi-fi. Continental breakfast equated to some white bread and a toaster. Had to scan and enter card details to use pool table, as they were owned by another company. The multiple coal fires were burning, but didn't throw out much heat.... We had stayed at Woolpack Hotel in Mudgee the night before for $20 less, for two double beds, neat, clean room with ensuite AND a TV, and refreshments and cold fridge- plus a great warm pub, with a slow combustion fire heating the whole place- plus the free entertainment was amazing!

Authentic historical friendly stay in a bird watching area. Comfy beds and lovely coal fired fireplaces
Pros:

Authentic and historical. Has everything you need except a private bathroom. Good to experience life in a hotel of the past.pizzas were good

Cons:

Very small town so restricted on entertainment. Great if you are totally independent which we were.
