Staff was really nice, good breakfast and location.
We had the suite room, which is a bit weirdly designed. There is no seating arrangement in the small living room or a place to keep your luggage (the actual bedroom is too small for this). The property ended up charging me a little more than the fare I had originally booked it for.
A charming art deco building which has a real homely atmosphere. Can please yourself making tea and coffee in the communal area at anytime.
My room was huge and the bed and linens were excellent
The place was a bit shabby with dirty sofas but the charm of the place, the stunning gardens compensated for this.
Location and size
* AC wasn't powerful enough for this big room
* there is literally no food service. A water dispenser, an electric kettle with coffee and tea sachets kept in the reception is all u get.
* the cups and electric kettle were unheigenic and very dirty from inside.
* nobody in the reception.
* pool gets cleaned probably only once in the morning.
* the washroom flush was not working properly
* for this price, we expect min service, which was missing. We paid almost half price on another property in Galle with all the basic services available always.
Havre de paix, nature et piscine au top. Je recommande
Property was beautiful, staff were very sweet and helpful throughout the stay. The breakfast was delicious and the room was nice.
Had some issues with the water and towels which was a bit of a setback but the staff was helpful to get things solved. Could have been better if it was informed earlier.
Great location, beautiful pool and good design. Breakfast is also good…5mn by tuk tuk to the center where all the restaurants and bars are. Super easy to get there…
Having a fridge in the hallway and also an old mattress by the hair salon. For a place like this standard , these things should not be seen by customers. Otherwise, everything was great
Relaxed and homely atmosphere with a gorgeous pool
Amaizing place full if green, rooms decorated very nice and the outdoor shower was great. Breakfast was tasty but a bit small
The sheets were clean.
After three weeks travelling around Sri Lanka, this was sadly our most disappointing stay. The property felt tired and in need of a serious glow-up. While the sheets were clean (a definite positive), the room overall felt shabby and not reflective of the price charged. The mosquito net was torn and dirty, which wasn’t ideal – and frustratingly, this was the only place on our trip where I ended up with terrible mosquito bites. For the cost, we expected far better.
We loved our stay at Abode. It was clean, comfortable with great facilities and a pool to die for. Mishkira was a lovely host and was very knowledgeable
Abode Ahangama is a nice hotel in a peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. It's definitely a boutique hotel feel with only four rooms in the building, so it feels very intimate. Whatever you need, the staff will do their best to accommodate. They helped us arrange bicycles (at an additional cost), giving us the ability to explore the local area which made our stay even better. The breakfast is very good and the staff were happy to make most dishes vegan for us.
We stayed for 7 nights and had a really good time, but the stay did feel it was a little pricey compared to our other stays in Sri Lanka in hindsight. The building does feel a little bit rustic, verging on run-down in places. It could all do with a refresh. The communal breakfast area is also a little bit awkward and would be better if there were one or two smaller tables so guests could enjoy breakfast in privacy. Also the coffee making facilities could be improved.

Beautiful colonial house nicely situated well off the busy main road, yet super close to beaches and restaurants in Ahangama. Spacious room with a separate hallway with an indoor-outdoor bathroom with the best shower was really nice! Staff arranged airport transfer and provided a great experience.
Not much to dislike - perhaps the place could do with a refresh. A fresh paint job on the in-and outside of the building, some landscaping to make the entrance look a little nicer, some updates on the interior could take this place to the next level.
