Location was excellent. Excellent breakfast.Helpful staff.
The bathroom was lovely with a spacious shower and bathtub. We had lunch at the Michelin star restaurant and it was great, but we have certainly had better food experiences for the price.
There is no lift and we had to take our own suitcases all the way up to the third floor whilst carrying a 2yo upon arrival, as they only person who could potentially help us as per the receptionist, was someone from the restaurant and we did not want to bother them as they looked really busy. Now when you pay these prices for a deluxe room, this is unacceptable.
The second is a matter of preference. The deluxe room appeared to be a spacious room with large windows and very bright. Our room turned out to be very spacious indeed but in the loft, so we only had 3 tiny windows and it felt a bit claustrophobic. As said, that’s a matter of preference cause some people may like this, but it was a shame cause the scenery outside was beautiful and we couldn’t really see it.
Beautiful, bucolic, setting in a classic Lakeland building
There are a few trails just off the hotel
We left an AirPod in the room, the Find My app confirmed it. We called the hotel many times since the day we checked out. Somehow they missed it and we traced it to the laundry facility. The frustrating part was that we had to keep calling for updates but in the end, no one came back to us to confirm that it’s lost.
Excellent food in the restaurant, which was a tasting menu.
We stayed here as part of our 40th wedding anniversary weekend but, sadly, the experience fell short of what we were hoping for. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel a warm welcome. The staff did not seem attentive, and there was little effort to make us feel comfortable or valued on what was a very special occasion for us.
In the restaurant, the lady who took our food order made us feel as if we weren’t welcome. We asked if it was possible to have one 8-course menu and one 4-course menu, but were told we had to choose either one or the other. This was disappointing, especially as we then noticed a table of four people next to us ordering three 4-course menus and one 8-course menu without issue. It left us feeling singled out and rather uncomfortable.
Gorgeous. Well located. Amazing staff. Michelin restaurant.
Pillows/beds not as comfortable as the property deserves. Seats on lawn would have been enjoyable. Very hot at night due to unseasonably warm temps with no AC.
Beautiful hotel. Surprised to see the two Michelin stars!!
Could have been more forthcoming with the baggage assistance
Michelin starred restaurant. Overall ambience. No children
