Great location, stunning surroundings and lovely staff. A surprise upgrade when we checked in.
Bathroom was not in a good condition. Lights kept flickering. Holders coming off the wall and the shower screen hanging off.
Breakfast was fantastic. The complimentary scones and cream lovely treat. Allocated parking simplified the stay.

Rien
Breakfast was delicious, location was perfect, had a lovely walk to the Lake on our doorstep.
The hotel is very nice, our room was large with a large comfortable bed, as well as a lovely private patio overlooking the stream. The breakfast was great, food and service in a small but excellent dining room (however see the dinner comments). On top of that the included afternoon cream scones were great. The staff are very attentive, and the public spaces are very tastefully decorated. A small but adequate bar, beautiful gardens and a lovely atmosphere to the whole place. Grasmere isn't big, but this hotel is ideally located.
The Booking.com entry is very deceptive, it shows images of a swimming pool which is actually in another hotel. It also doesn't mention that there is no evening meal restaurant other than again going to the sister hotel in the village. Unfortunately that restaurant is dreadful poor food, compounded by poor service. The room we had was large and very nice, but the shower head hose was covered in black mould, why let yourself down like that for the £10 for some HG mould spray or swap the hose.
Lovely staff, lovely room, lovely visit 😊
Nothing
Great location friendly knowledgeable staff great breakfast.
Liked everything
Location, size of room and complimentary scones in the afternoon
Nothing at all
Everything the rooms are beautiful and very spacious. The hotel sits on beautiful grounds and has a large conservatory.
Nice hotel in the middle of the village. A lovely conservatory for breakfast and drinks.
We have stayed before and it is in a great position in the central lakes at Grassmere, the staff and facilities are lovely, the breakfast is first class and cooked to order. Love the cream scones and hot drink as a welcome
Car park gives allocated space to leave your car. Gardens lovey to sit and take in the scenery as is the conservatory.
Our room was in the attics, it was hot, three flights of stairs the last set very narrow, no real views of the beautiful surroundings. The bed room was very restrictive to my husband who is 6 foot he hit his head at least 6 times trying to move around the room due to beams low ceilings and doorways.
The sink for washing was impossible to access without opening a velux window as the sink was set so far into the eves you couldn’t reach it. Such a shame as we know the other rooms don’t have any of these problems.
Very friendly staff. Great location.Very quiet. Takeaway service from their sister site is excellent and the food is very good. Cream tea in the afternoon is a nice touch. Rooms are exactly as expected. Good choice of breakfast, both cooked and continental. Great base if you want to visit other areas of the lakes.
