Always a delight - a Home from Home, will return.
Pros:

Room, Staff and food werer all wonderful, the grounds and Spa are lovely and even with the road works in the village, the access was straight forward, especially with the communications and guidance from the Hotel.
The Hotel staff were very helpful and when we had a taxi cancelled to get to a wedding on time, the Team at the hotel drove us themselves - Above and beyond!!

Cons:

The evening meal at the Acorn Inn was lovely, but the Staff did make us feel that bit was all a bit rushed and we felt like we were being hurried through the meal to finish as soon as we could, which made it less relaxing than we had hoped.

5 star country house experience ably demonstrates that you get what you pay for.
Pros:

Breakfast excellent. Setting beautiful. Service was outstanding: efficient, proactive and very friendly.

Cons:

Unexpected room charges on account at check-in, rather than the usual credit card details. These were refundable if not used.
Wood smoke from downstairs fireplace in bedroom, but the open fires were lovely.

Quiet, private and beautiful
Pros:

Such a beautiful hotel, well kept, staff was very nice. You get your privacy, yet service is attentive. It’s truly 5* experience, SPA is small but incredibly clean, not crowded.

Cons:

Wine card is amazing, but for those who do not consume alcohol (I am pregnant), options are very limited. There should be a better variety, especially to pair with food.

Brilliant restful stay in a charismatic, classic British hotel offering an extraordinarily high level of guest enjoyment
Pros:

Thoughtful, homely, friendly with excellent food making it the most enjoyable hotel stay that we have ever had. The crowning glory is that the staff are super attentive no helpful without ever being over obsequious nor pompous. We only stayed for 2 nights but left feeling as rested as we if we had stayed for 2 weeks. My wife always enjoys a massage when it is available and said that the massage at this hotel was the best she has ever had. Every other guest we spoke to was a returning guest, we just about the only “newbies” and they all said “you’ll come back” …… and we will.

Cons:

We loved it and can think of nothing to criticise.

A Destination Hotel with all the Trimmings
Pros:

Excellent service without being intrusive. Excellent food well presented and very toothsome. The setting of the hotel is also wonderful. Very comfortable room and lots of added touches.

Supremely relaxing stay
Pros:

I’ve stayed in many hotels but Summer lodge’s attention to detail and customer service is outstanding. Rooms so comfortable with all details catered for; excellent food, relaxing lounge/ bar/snug, spa is super. Great location as a base for discovering Dorset

Apart from the evening meal return everything was fine. Staff were charming.
Pros:

Breakfast was good but tea and coffee could be hotter. Please ask if hot or cold milk is prefered.

Cons:

My wife had to return her venison evening meal as it was not hot. Very disappointing considering your expected standards.
