Close to the sea
Didn’t get clean towels
Didn’t know what room we had
A very old-school style of hotel with clean, large and comfortable rooms upstairs. The bathroom was renovated, the breakfasts a good size and upstairs sitting areas were quite posh; the staff were helpful.
The downstairs was "tired" and smelled of cigarette smoke.
Central location to all amenities, characterful hotel
Room and twin beds were comfortable, shower was good. Staff were vey friendly.
Carpet on main stairs was tired and dirty!
Basic room suitable for a very short stay. Essentially, hotel used to sleep only.
Some towels/soap missing and no milk for coffee/tea in room. Contacted hotel to arrange for a takeaway breakfast as we were up early. They said they'd do us a continental breakfast. Asked at the hotel and they said they didn't do a continental breakfast! Organisation is quite lacking.
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Great view of St Michael's Mount
Room was a bit basic, Hotel scruffy, not impressed with the food
Provided breakfast sandwiches as we were away from the hotel too early for breakfast. Suitable as a no frills, get your head down type of place (we were staying over for a few days of sea angling).
Some of the rooms I had booked had no towels/soap or long life milk for tea/coffee. Staff were pleasant but the hotel did seem rather disorganised.
The entertainment
No shower.
dining room interesting as were the many sculptures / figure heads and pictures
Staff under huge pressure as obviously short of staff. Poor cleaning lady was still preparing our rooom when we arrived at 5.30pm!
Breakfast was served from 7.30a.m., essential for booking in for Scillonian by 0830a.m.
There was no mirror in shower room, also no hooks or rails, nowhere to dispose of sanitary waste, no holder for loo roll and no shelf or similar on which to put anything like sponge bags etc.
The hotel location and the staff in the pub
During our 3 days stay they never made the room and/or changed the towels
Very historic. Helpful staff . Clean
No lifts.
In a very good location for what we needed
Beautiful building but very tired and needing upgrading
room and breakfast adequate. OK for the price.
Room was good but needed attention.
The reception team needed to liase more with the staff who booked you in in the bar.
The event room
Unclean, understaffed, check in 4:30pm - Room not even cleaned, wet towels, bed unmade.
Poor breakfast service
Staff stressed and moody
