I had a very comfortable stay at the Union Hotel, Penzance. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very clean and had this uniqueness to it due to its history. The facilities provided were much better than what I had expected them to be. The breakfast, along with the service was exceptional. I will surely choose the Union hotel for when I am visiting Penzance again!
Location and Cleanliness.Overall fantastic experienced.
Old and dated
Rooms need a major revamp
Fantastic location and wonderfully helpful and cheerful staff.
Beautiful building but sadly run down and rather scruffy.
Manager was pleasant
No lift, no one on reception when we arrived, had to carry heavy cases up the stairs, bed clean but badly made , cups in room dirty, mould on bathroom tiles. Breakfast looked good, had to leave early couldn't experience it.
The location was great as we were traveling to and from the Scilly Isles. The rooms were fine on both occasions that we stayed. The first time we stayed the breakfast was fine .
Really liked the slightly quirky decor, the marble busts , the riding boot lamps and some of the paintings.
The second time we stayed the breakfast experience was not good. The service was poor , we needed to hunt for our own bowls and plates the coffee was cold and stewed . Definitely lots of room for improvement .
Clean room, good facilities and decent breakfast. Great location close to the harbour. Stores 7 bikes securely for us
The bed was good and I slept well. The bar and bar service was good. The location was a ten minutes walk from the train station.i
I had Room 29 on the second floor. The light over the sink was not working and there was no nob on the pull cord. No hot water ever came in the sink. The extractor fan was very noisy and vibrated when on. There was no nob on the pull cord to the light switch over the bed. The toilet cistern filling never stopped. No lift.
There was never anyone in reception or about to discuss the problems.
Re breakfasts :- the bread was the cheapest possible, no fruit, they got my breakfast wrong two mornings and on Sunday morning the wait was excessive. The waitress said they had a training cook on duty.
The history and charm or the building. Excellent staff and they couldn't be more helpful
Room facilities a little dated but very clean.
location and staff great, hotel old but room had all we needed and very much apreciated it.
2 days no service in room had to find someone to help ,man from bar had to go find towels toilet rolls cofee etc!!!unacceptable
breakfast cutlery dirty ,all cups etc dirty coffee metal jugs dirty tablecloth stained after someone already spilt stuff ,plates not cleared enough 😟😟😟however waitress lovely and complaint was listened too ,greatful for and room discounted . breakfast full english always tasty ,that’s why i’ve marked stay from low to high,
friendly and very helpful staff
breakfast
Cleanliness of room
had to ask for bathtowel
Room was spotless. Staff were lovely. Historic building to explore, located in the heart of Penzance.
The room was extremely basic. Not even a shelf to put toiletries on, in the bathroom. Lots of stairs in this accomodation, not for those with mobility issues.
The central location was excellent, the breakfast was ample, everything I needed and the staff were very friendly and helpful, thank you to them. Pigul
Stairs to climb and pigeons at window early in morning.
Absolutely shocking. Made the booking through Booking.com. Upon arrival the cost of the room increased significantly from the reservation cost. The room was on the top floor despite the hotel confirming, prior to arrival, this would not be the case after I had made a specific requested. TThe room was tiny. The TV did not work. The shower was not safe to use, with no non-slip mat.
Thoroughly enjoyed it
Nothing
The breakfast and the staff were exceptional
The room could have been serviced more often
The whole stay was excellent experience. Mike was very friendly and helpful. He's a cool guy. The breakfast staff were fantastic. Overall, my family all enjoyed the stay at Union Hotel. Thank you!
