Stayed here for three days and two nights.

Strategically located about 10 to 20 minutes of drive outside of Semporna town. The place is clean and quiet, it's right beside an oil palm plantation, and is surrounded by a beautiful, well-maintained garden.

Rooms are not connected to the lobby/dining area - separated by a short walk under the foliage. An umbrella is provided at each room if it rains. Washing machines at the lobby. There are also hanging racks for your clothes right outside your own room.

There's a free van service to and fro Semporna town at a fixed interval, you just have to inform/whatsapp the resort 30 minutes earlier. If you arrive by your own transportation, there's ample parking space.

Serves good breakfast. While the kitchen is closed during lunch, it opens for dinner and supper from 5pm onwards. If you brought fresh seafood from town, the kitchen can cook it for you with a fee. I hadn't tried their dinner; I had their coconut: it's sweet.

Friendly and attentive owner and staff ensuring that I have a comfortable and pleasant stay. Converse mainly in Mandarin Chinese... probably thinking that I was from mainland China. I was here to hike a hill but after I was told that the hiking trail was temporarily closed for renovation, and that I missed the resort's own firefly viewing on the day I checked in, the staff recommended a local mangrove cruise the following day which I greatly enjoyed.

度假村环境非常好，大厅提供免费瓶装饮用水和驱蚊水。厨师水平不错，蛋黄鱿鱼，奶油虾都不错，咸蛋黄苦瓜也不错，基本上没有踩雷的菜。虽然离镇上有点远，但是度假村提供定时的接送服务。我爸住的房间到浴室之间有个小台阶，为防止老人不小心摔倒，及时给我们调整了房间。入住的时候是春节很热闹，老板给每桌客人都敬酒了，真是诚意满满

服务很好，会中文，餐厅做饭好吃，有班车可以去镇子上

Not far from the city, a quiet place with a nice garden. Easy to go downtown or to the pier for activities since they provide very convenient shuttles. It's a perfect place to stay if you plan to go for diving or snorkelling day trips (which they can also arrange for you if you need). 
Breakfast is perfect, even for western people since they offer pancakes, eggs, bacon, bread and so on. Restaurant is very good at a reasonable price, but they open only for dinner.

We really appreciated the manager and all the team. Everybody is very friendly and always does his best to help you.

The surrounding ambience

Extremely well run lodge located about 15 minutes drive from the jetty.. modern , Well equipped rooms set in pleasant gardens.
Main lobby / restaurant area is a highlight, housed under a single massive roof.
Staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, available immediately.
Complimentary shuttle bus to and from town every hour.
Breakfasts are good,, however dinners were exceptional and well worth considering if you don't mind spending a little above the local rate.
Semporna town is not a particularly nice environment to lodge in, and this resort offers a very affordable and more comfortable option.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Firefly Resort in Semporna! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was calm, welcoming, and perfect for relaxing. The resort truly feels like a peaceful escape while still being a great base for exploring the area.

The breakfast selection was excellent, with plenty of choices to suit everyone’s taste. Every morning felt like a treat.

One of the biggest advantages is the free shuttle to Semporna town, which makes getting around super convenient. To be honest, Semporna town itself wasn’t really our thing — but that made staying at Firefly Resort even better. Even if your main goal is to visit the nearby islands, this resort is the perfect place to stay: peaceful, beautifully designed, and very well located for day trips.

In short, Firefly Resort is a true gem in Semporna. We would absolutely stay here again!

The staff is absolutely kind and efficient.
They're willing to help you anytime.
Restaurant is very good with a perfect quality/price proportion.
They even offered you, to purchase fresh seafood on the market, bring it and they cook it for you.
Comfortable rooms. Good size, good beds. Clean and with air conditioning.
They also offer transport for free to and from Semporna.
I would highly recommend it!!

De mensen zijn daar echt super vriendelijk en heel behulpzaam! Eten is heel lekker en gratis shuttlebus. Hele fijne locatie!
