Room adequate although a bit on the small side.
Takeaway breakfast option came in very handy and was able to get to the meeting point in good time.
Comfortable chair in room
Bed was OK, but a little bit hard for my liking.
Drinks were very good and lovely decking area out of the back of the pub.
Window surround looked a bit dated and could do with a freshen up with paint.
Bathroom sink was very small and was a little awkward to wash in the morning.
Having the Tea making facilities in the corner underneath where you hang your clothes was odd
Convenient location
All good
We had two breakfasts but if I'm being honest the second one was better. I suspect there may have been some sort of staffing issues. Our room was clean and comfortable. On the whole things were fine and all the staff we met were all pleasant and easy to talk with.
A full length mirror would have been a plus.
We stayed for one night (19–20 June 2026) and had a brilliant experience from start to finish. The pub has a great atmosphere and we were made to feel genuinely welcome the moment we arrived. Every member of staff we met was friendly, helpful and warm, which really made the stay stand out.
We had dinner in the pub and the pub grub was excellent — hearty, tasty and exactly what you want from a proper village inn. Breakfast the next morning was just as good, freshly cooked and generous.
Our room was superbly appointed, spotless, comfortable and far more than we'd expected for a one‑night stopover. The only tiny thing missing was a bin in the room — but honestly, that’s nowhere near enough to mark the place down.
Overall, a fantastic stay in an excellent location, with great food, great people and a really welcoming feel.
The only tiny thing I can find to say that was missing is a bin in the room! but honestly, that’s nowhere near enough to mark the place down.
The owners and staff were fantastic, went above and beyond. I asked for prosecco in my room, there was also bowl of fresh strawberries and chocolates. Breakfast was great and a great selection of the menu. Highly recommend
The shower was as good as standing under a watering can. The room was comfy but bit dated, the bath was massive though.
Last minute booking. Hotel, food and staff amazing. Highly recommend.
The room was perfect with a bath tub in the corner, it was clean & warm & the full English breakfast was fresh and tasted so nice. Location was great, with a shop just over the road, and a pizza shop & fish and chips. Staff were lovely, couldn’t fall it at all. Thank you. The decor and style of the room was gorgeous too x
I liked everything
The room we had was in really need of an upgrade decoration
Poor deco
Relaxed atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly.
Loads of parking.
We could go in and out of the pub easily at any hour, this is very important when you have a dog.
The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
The pub food was also excellent. Very large helpings and tasty.
The linen and towels were navy blue. Personally I prefer to see white linen and white towels when I go away as they always look fresh and clean. However they were clean and matched the room and that is only my fussy opinion!!!
The small kettle in the room didn’t come off at the base as they don’t in hotel rooms, but unfortunately the lead wasn’t long enough from the socket to the counter top to pour it, so you had to unplug it to pour it out. Just attention to detail really. We were only there a couple of nights and although we didn’t really need the room servicing, it would have been nice to have had some clean cups put out.
The staff was very welcoming, the room was clean.
Poorly decorated, very dark and basic.
Everything and everyone
Nothing it was spot on

The location is good for visits to many East coast resorts Breakfast the best that we have had on quite a few visits to the East coast area
