Beautiful big property to walk around and enjoy the countryside
For the price of the rooms the fact that some rooms only have beds which are 135cm is quite crazy. Also they do not explain in advance ahead of the booking that the pool and spa are closed for the winter. At check out, we had included on the bill a tip for the hotel staff (such us cleaners etc) as it was specifically included in the bill, you have to proactively remove if you don’t wan to pay for it. This basically feels like they are pushing you to pay for this. This tip by the way is aside from the bar and restaurant tips already provided. I am not sure why you feel this is America now? I thought this was so rude that just because of this I would not come back

Beautiful property, well kept, clean and very picturesque. We stayed for our Christmas birthdays and the staff made it an incredible unforgettable stay. From the reception staff, to the cocktail barman, the restaurant waitresses were so attentive. We felt like celebrities. Thank you all, we will be returning.
The hotel is beautiful and in beautiful surroundings, On check in the staff showed us round the property and explained where everything was. We had drinks in Baa Baa, ate breakfast in the Ox Barn and ate dinner at the Swan. All excellent.
When we checked in we were taken to our room which was Pear Tree Cottage, it was a stunning cottage but not what we expected as we had booked a junior suite. This was lovely but a little out of the way as was out of the way and you had to cross the road to get to the accommodation. We spoke to reception and they kindly changed us to a room nearer the hotel which was much appreciated. We can't fault any other aspect of our stay.

Tutto. Il servizio è davvero pessimo. Il personale non è preparato e gli ospiti sono trattati molto male. Le stanze sono gelide, la notte impostano la temperatura a 18 gradi in inverno con -5 gradi fuori per non spendere soldi. In bagno avevamo la vasca senza neanche il soffione appeso al soffitto, c’era solo un doccino in basso con cui a malapena riuscivi a lavarti e non c’era neanche la tenda. La colazione è davvero misera, con pochissima scelta. La cosa peggiore di tutte però è senza ombra di dubbio il personale che risponde davvero male ai clienti o non li considera proprio. Ho un’allergia al pepe, a colazione la cameriera ci ha risposto molto male dicendo che non c’era nulla da mangiare per me, e quando abbiamo provato a dirlo al Manager della struttura ci siamo sentiti dire che non era possibile e che evidentemente eravamo stati maleducati noi perché non parliamo bene l’inglese. Mai visto un trattamento del genere in una struttura a 5 stelle. Un giorno abbiamo dimenticato le chiavi nella stanza, abbiamo chiesto aiuto in reception e ci hanno risposto male che non potevano aiutarci perché stavano facendo altro e ci hanno fatto aspettare 20 minuti. Esperienza davvero negativa. Non siamo stati alla spa ma non c’è piscina al chiuso, e dai commenti che leggo non è nulla di che. In più ho letto che anche d’estate con 30 gradi non accendono aria condizionata e si sviene di caldo nelle stanze. Tutto questo alla modica cifra di 800 euro a notte. Segnalo anche che provano a farti pagare a fine soggiorno una discretionary fee di 30/40 pound a notte, nonostante il soggiorno sia stato prenotato su Booking e non erano segnalati altri costi in struttura. Spero che la gente legga questa recensione e possa evitare la brutta esperienza che purtroppo noi abbiamo avuto.

This is an exceptional hotel. It is a series of beautifully restored cotswold stone buildings that form a stunning, luxurious hotel within glorious gardens. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well equipped and the decor is pretty and stylish. We were given a room on the ground floor as we realised my husband could not manage the stairs to the bathroom in our first room and everything was done with no fuss. All the common rooms are stunning, you would not want to leave them! Fabulous Baa Bar.
What truly made this trip though was the staff. Not only professional and very friendly, but enormously helpful and kind. Nothing was too much bother - Jasmine on Reception even offered to drive us to our dinner date in her own car!
I would recommend Thyme unreservedly
