I can not believe what has happened to this hotel been coming here since the day it was opened
It was always a fabulous place to come after visiting today I am flabbergasted
We booked in for the day and was charged 2000 lira per person .
It is now all inclusive.
The money was not the problem
The problem was the food I’ve never in all the places I’ve stayed seen anything like it chicken fingers and Chicken wings absolutely disgusting.
My wife is a vegetarian and was told there was nothing for her 🙈
Alcohol is not included but that doesn’t bother any off my family they don’t drink but a nice drink other than cordial would have been ok
What a shame they have destroyed a fabulous place to come
After being the first guest to come when it opened it’s really sad
Do not waste your money in here
It’s disgusting
I have been coming to joya Del Mar since the day it opened. Never in my life been so disappointed. What the hell have they done to this place. They have brought in new management who have made it all inclusive. Charging 2000tl per person to get in for a buffet that you wouldn’t feed to a dog. Had my mum with me who does not eat mean to be told that there was no fish whatsoever or anything vegetarian on the buffet. So any vegetarians stay away. The food was absolutely disgusting. We would have rather have paid the money per meal/drinks as usual for the proper drinks and Al a carte menus. Felt like it was a children’s Buffett. Chicken nuggets and chips that were cold. It was one of the best places in Marmaris, we used to come here at least 5 times a year for at least a week at a time, as well as just coming for the day throughout the year! we will never come again. They do not even serve Fanta or Coca Cola any more. Just local brands. I feel like I’ve walked into a different place, how have they been allowed to let it get to this! Really disheartening. We will not be returning anytime soon, and that’s a shame!
Having been here multiple times last year it was always our favourite place to go. A gorgeous sandy beach , clear blue waters and a boutique feel so different from other places in marmaris. When we arrived last week to use the beach and saw how much it had changed we were gutted! The place has gone to ruins! You can tell no money has been spent on it since last year. The sunbeds are broken and uncomfortable, dirty cups, glasses and cigarettes lying around from probably days before, the lovely swing in the sea looks like it’s only just holding in there with the paint peeling off too. The lovely decking area which had lovely seating and a big mirror is just lying empty and untidy too. There is now only an all inclusive option for the day pass meaning you have to use the buffet which was the biggest disappointment out of all of it. Cold bland food and unbranded cheap drinks! For 2000 TL per person I would expect to at least be able get a decent iced coffee but no! When making a complaint the guest relations woman was completely indifferent! Luckily the manager had more about him who had a chat and fair play did refund us so we could carry on our day elsewhere. Really is a shame and hopefully next year they can repair the damage and gain their good reputation back but for the foreseeable we would not be returning.
We went for dinner and were enjoying our time together when the buffet was suddenly closed—without any prior notice. We were left halfway through our meal, unable to finish with fruits or desserts. They did offer us dinner for free after our complaints , but that wasn’t the point. We simply wanted to enjoy a relaxed holiday dinner, not feel stressed because everything shuts down at 9:01. I would have understood if we had asked for something to be freshly cooked, but we were only trying to take items that were already prepared and sliced. They might have even ended up throwing them away. It was a short-sighted approach and certainly not the right way to create a positive experience for guests
So disappointing! As a family we have been visiting Joya for many years, it was our favourite place in Marmaris, however, sadly we turned up today to find a completely different Joya. Food is a bland and beige self service buffet at a fixed and all inclusive price, and non beige food, including the previously wonderful Turkish breakfast are not included in the £40 per adult price. Beach and pool are packed. Food and service used to be exceptional, that is sadly no longer the case. We will not be returning.
Nice location, helpful staff, nice room, excellent shower
Continual loud banal music from morning till bedtime blaring out of multiple speakers on the beachfront, swimming pool, restaurant and bar areas. You could not escape it and we could not get the speaker turned off where we were sitting. You cannot hear nature and you are in a nature reserve! Totally unnecessary if people want music nearly everyone has their own headphones!
It is a lovely location in a quiet bay with an excellent sandy beach and safe swimming, about a 15-20-minute drive from Marmaris's old town. Well away from the noisy parts of Marmaris. The room was just yards from the beach, and the restaurant area overlooked the beach and bay. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, although it needed greater variety. We ate dinner in the hotel for three nights, and it was good. On other nights, we drove into town, where several excellent restaurants were on the harbour below the old town. The room was cleaned well daily, although strangely, they always seemed short of toilet rolls. I had to ask twice. Car parking is just about adequate. It is a private beach for the hotel, although they allow others to use it. It was never crowded. It is next to a marina, but little activity to disturb.
The hotel is situated in a wooded National Park, which means there are many flies and mosquitos. We got bitten quite a lot. They offer insect repellent spray and burn Turkish coffee on the table, which is reasonably effective. I would recommend bringing a mosquito killer for the room, although they really should install it. They should also install an insect killer in the restaurant area for a hotel at this price. There was no chair inside the room and only one size of pillow. You would expect a kettle at this standard of hotel. The top sheet was far too small for the bed. The aircon was effective, although not very modern. Even in the lowest setting, it was a bit cold in the middle of the night.
Just ask if dinner available before booking and also ask if any wedding, etc will be present during your stay. Otherwise your vacation will be disaster as mine. You can't even sleep in this hotel.
Just seen the last few reviews and can't believe it's the same place! We came for day visit, booked via hotels WhatsApp link and no issues with this at all. Service is great, very unintrusive and non pushy leading to a very relaxed day. If you want a drink and a waiter is not passing by as soon as you get up one comes to you, all staff really helpful and friendly...you're not hassled to keep buying.
We have eaten lunch there the last couple of days, food of excellent quality and service great.
Prices are very good too.
The swimming among boats post I can't understand? The boats are well away from the beach which is incredible by the way...proper sand and clear water.
We came for 1 day and will have done 4 by the end of our holiday, wish we'd gone sooner.
On the waterfront.
Trying to get understood by the staff for basic requests…
Nice pool, nice beach, nice staff, nice food
Very nice, quiet hotel with a little private beach.
Breakfast was delecious!
I liked the view from the beach, I didn't mind the distance from the center because I wanted to opt for a less polluted beach. The internet worked well our whole stay. Our rooms were clean, the mattress was ok.
The beach was littered with plastic and garbage. The menu wasn't really for International clientele. Our eggs had shells in them for 3 consecutive days. I was really hoping for at least a 4* experience and I'm sad to day, we didn't get that. Hospitality was sub par and that may be because very few employees actually spoke English so it was difficult to communicate. Our concerns.
The hotel's setting is lovely, real nice small beach next to yacht's dock
Great plc for a weekend to chill
The room was small
No blinds on the windows, so light came in with the mng sunrise.
Hotel manager was quiet rude
Super friendly staff who made us feel "part of the family". Gorgeous private beach, right in front of a very reasonably priced restaurant and cozy bar. It was wonderful sitting by the brazier on the beach after dinner, just watching the waves lapping on the shore.
