The staff rooted through our room and personal letters, Charlotte told me things she would of only possibly known from our letters!! Disgusting hospitality should not be running that place. Even told us they were fully booked for a next night, low and behold I go o!booking . Com and there were over 3 rooms available!!
Both Tommy and Charlotte have a exceptional problem with how they treat guests! I got told to leave. Having had to pay for a different room and still haven't received a refunded yet for the day and night I never had!! Told police I was having some sort of a party or something I guess in the room and had drugs maybe in there he wanted the officer to search the bedroom thoroughly not a thing!!!!! Absolutely mortified then made me walk through the fire escape so no other guests saw me leaving! I've NEVER been so ashamed and insulted in all my life. I am waiting up to 7 days for this refund otherwise I will be taking it higher and also the pc verbally heard you stating you were going to be refunding me the police officer even came back to check about my refund!! Staff were even embarrassed about the way you treated us honestly I'm not getting anybody into hot water, but they made remarks about how the pay wasn't to standard for all they do for you. Cleaners also bless them. Let's just see how long it takes before your in the red, not long looking at the exterior work that has to be done
Also I did not mention in my rating before, as I have actually NEVER rated anything in my entire life I've never felt the need too until now! But this place just got my back up so much, yes the scenery is good but when you only live 10 minutes drive it's easy to look out of any other of the outstanding hotels I've visited/or home and see the valleys, hills wildlife and just bliss I guess. But my partner and I thought yes we should go for a mini break. So this is where we found on booking.com late on in the evening, arrived about 9pm we booked the Terrace Room which has another door bringing you outside on the Terrace, we did mention that we were absolutely famished could we maybe have anything at all please, we got told that usually there are brownies for your room on arrival, that was it- end of conversation. Made me feel awkward the way he huffed and puffed about it. So I went and looked in the reception area for anything, there were brownies, fruit and little bottles of milk in a fridge!!!
The lady at the computer said "oh I'm sorry they are for a a party we have arriving booked in for tomorrow" I took some anyway we were paying guests just like everyone else (and actually we were checked in already) By morning i got over it went down for breakfast and to my shock it was far from a £16pp breakfast that was additional payment, you could get better in Tesco or somewhere like this no disrespect to Tesco at all!!! When your paying over £200 plus then supposed to coin out another £16 each for whatever that was. So we decided to cheer up and go for a walk to see the lambs and hills, try if we could see any otters (even if they did come out at dusk haha) It was amazing spending quality time in a tranquil place. Truly beautiful views! We had booked for 2 nights so we asked them for menus, both had the steak it was cooked perfectly, really the meal was great! Headed back to our room.
Rest will follow lol 😂

In a lovely countryside location with great views , beautiful gardens with lots of gazebos & places to sit to enjoy a drink.
The evening meal was exceptional as was the Welsh Rarebit for breakfast.
It was obvious the staff wanted us to enjoy the place, with advice on walks & info about the area.
Our room had a little outdoor space with table & chairs with a view.
The mattress would benefit from a topper , but a very minor issue.
Staff were very friendly and upon arrival, we were shown around and given the right amount of housekeeping.
The sit out area in front of the bird feeder was perfect as the sun was setting.
The area was quiet.
The hotel was warm and inviting, decor was good.
Toiletries were divine.
Staff were knowledgeable about dietary requirements and the breakfast was fab.
These aren't so much what we didn't like but defintely more of what could be done better.
The corridor/stairs/landing could have been a little cleaner, console table needed cleaning and so did the large windowsill to the large window (debris and insects). Crumbs/food in the corners of my chair at breakfast.
Curtains in our room were torn.
