Old, tired barely adequate accommodation.
Pros:

Very central to the town centre.

Cons:

The building was"tired" and in need of maintenance. The bedroom and bathroom areas were not clean.
If there had have been a fire, I would have jumped out the window, rather than have risked the rotten wooden fire escape.

Cons:

There was no shower or hair shampoo, the dispenser in the shower was empty. The extraction fan is very loud. There was only 1 knife, fork and spoon for a room the sleeps 3 people. No heater so the room was very cold. The spare blanket smelt musty like its been sitting there for ages. The other light lamp above the bed didnt work. Was very disappointing.

Great place for a short work trip. Fantastic Indian restaurant within walking distance!

The young woman running the place is efficient and lovely.
Pros:

Cheap and perfectly adequate for people passing through. Eerily stuck in the past which is kinda cool.

Cons:

The room was a tiny bit dull given it’s in an old historic building. It would cheer up with a few relics of the past dotted around the rooms to accentuate the history and create atmosphere and a reminder of days gone by in this old hotel. Op shops are full of old frames and throwing some photocopied old photos in them can be done for low cost. Tourists like a story, and a connection to local history. The owners could trade on that!

The day after booking the hotel advised they have live music so “will be some noise disturbance” - I responded asking if could cancel as the reason for travel was a sporting competition that required rest. Sadly even though I sent several emails regarding this I had no response and needed to make alternative arrangements in light of needing rest before competition. I would strongly suggest that the “noise disturbance” be stated on the website so others don’t loose out as I did!

on arrival never shown to the room
just the usa style up the stairs is your room
no power by the beds so had to re arrange the room to be able to use a sleep device
