Hospitality of Javed Bhai and Iqbal Bhai was excellent . I would recommend it to all Couple and Family travellers as well as to Solo travellers who are looking for best stay in affordable price.
I liked living, dining and other rooms.Our rooms' bed should have been a bit better though it was good.

Javid and Iqbal were most welcoming and Iqbal in particular took great care of us throughout our stay. He had many helpful suggestions for exploring the area and was available to take us across to the Main Road on his Shekar’s. Farouk was also most attentive and helpful. Although meals on the houseboat are expensive they were very willing for us to provide our own dinner and to heat it up for us.
It is not on the main part of the lake. It was quite rainy and cold when we were there, but we had plenty of warm blankets

Very neat and clean property with all amenities, good heating provided. The host Iqbal bhai is very sweet and polite.
Javid and Iqbal Bhai were so helpful and their service was exceptional. Javid bhai also helped us with a Shikara ride in Dal lake and a cab guide for our 6 day trip. Houseboat stay is one of the most memorable experiences in our Kashmir trip. I recommend everyone to stay in a houseboat for one night. Though this houseboat is relatively far from Dal gate ghats and not one of those houseboats that you can see from the road, I would recommend you choose 'Young Manhattan houseboat' for their sweet service.

The houseboat was clean and rooms were clean too. Bathrooms were clean. Staff were helpful. They provided shikara ride from Ghat 7 to the houseboat and back to Ghat 7 which is complimentary. In between if you want to go back to the Ghat it costs Rs.200 one way. After leaving our luggage we had to see the city and paid Rs.400 for the extra back and forth ride. We didnt order any breakfast or dinner so cannot review their quality and taste. In night we bought our own food from outside and were allowed to eat on the dinning table. Incidentally it began to rain and all the houseboats on the Dal lake lost power. The houseboat ran the lights on the inverter whole night. Power came only after 14hours in the Dal lake. So it is better to keep your mobiles fully charged before visiting any houseboats. We scheduled a morning shikara ride for 1.5 hours which costed us Rs.1500. Water bottles were charged to us.
The location of this houseboat on booking.com is completely wrong. I booked this houseboat thinking I could have a view of the Dal lake road. However the actual location is quite inside and there were no proper views from there. Please see image for the actual location. The location advertised belongs to Holiday Inn Group of Houseboat, NOT Young Manhattan. I brought this issue with the owner who was very reluctant to admit that they have their location wrong, either they are not aware of it or they purposely dont fix it on the website. Only Google Maps App (not even Google Maps Website) shows the right location of all the houseboats. So anyone who wants to book a houseboat please check first on the Google Maps App. A TV exists in the living room which is not functional. The windows of the rooms face the west side so rooms become very hot in the summer months as rooms dont have AC, only fan. Opening the windows provide some relief from the outside breeze in the afternoon. Morning and evenings are fine in the summer months.

I stayed 4 nights on Young Manhattan houseboat and it was a very good experience. The boat location is perfect, close to the city but though very quiet, the boat itself is beautiful, confortable, very clean and well maintained, the hospitality and service are amazing. The owner and his family nearby are very receptive and helpful, and they provide good food. Prices are fair. Don't search any further !
I like the way they treated us at the first and the welcoming, the interior, clean and tidy bathroom ( I mentioned while booking). I hope its betta to stay for a day not more than that.
I traveled about 3000km from bike to Dal lake especially to this houseboat. I didn’t like one facility where the electric blanket was not. Working and we have to pay extra 400 per day for heating the room it has to be included because I saw while booking the room that heater is included but being there in that temperature that too -3 in December without the heater is not possible that has to be included and the blanket is also not working so it made us to pay 400 (told 600 and negotiated for 400) per day and our stay was for 2 days and that too it was not used all over the day it was used only for 2 hours maximum!
We had one dinner at that house boat costed us 600rs which was shocking while paying. I had my lunch in LAZEEZ which should cost me more but costed less comparatively. Satisfied but not at the best. They also should know that ppl will come all over 3000 km within a budget!
The house boat is so pretty, clean and very comfortable. The location of the houseboat is awesome. Javed bhai and Irfan Bhai are amazing and very helpful. The rooms were very comfortable. The ride to the houseboat in the small boat is so pretttyyyy. Mornings here are so peaceful and just serene.
