Great location, central to everything we wanted to see and do.
Pros:

We stayed two nights, the first night some machinery was left operating and was disturbing to my sleep. Breakfast was continental, nothing special. Fresh fruit and yoghurt would have been appreciated.

Cons:

Noise on the first evening. Continental breakfast could be expanded to include fruit and yoghurt, maybe trim milk too.

Best stay elsewhere which is a shame.
Pros:

The location was good and the Art Deco architecture was pleasant.

Cons:

The carpet was smelly and there was no atmosphere or interaction from the staff.

Atmosphere of the old hotel. Friendly, helpful staff/management. Having dinner on site instead of having to go out, tho some more imaginative food would have been welcome.

Cons:

Breakfast - some more variety perhaps? e.g. brown bread, vegemite or marmite, fresh fruit, changing types of stewed fruit. Parking - very convenient being just outside, but we were a bit nervous leaving the car overnight on the main road.
Tiny bathroom and not much way to house toilet bags, etc.

Disappointing and won’t come back.
Cons:

Other peoples hair in the bathroom and on bed sheets. Not cleaned or checked properly.
Breakfast room cold, no heating. Breakfast poor value. White bread only. Blue milk only. One choice of fruit.
Evening meal poor quality and poor value.

Being in the older age bracket we found it suited us excellently.
Pros:

Ideal for us. We loved the character of the place and all the history.

Cons:

We thought to be more in keeping with the place, jars of jam etc in the breakfast room would be more in keeping instead of little plastic containers which add to pollution etc.

Basic Hotel accommodation in the centre of Ranfurly
Pros:

The location was pretty good in the centre of town. The people running the hotel were very helpful. The rooms and bathroom were clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. there is also a communal room upstairs where our rooms were so we could get together for a drink and a chat.

Cons:

No A/C or fans in the rooms and it was hot! The food needs a big rethink - dinner was not great, quite uninspiring. Actually very expensive accommodation for what it was.

Clean, tidy and friendly.
Pros:

Friendly staff, clean and tidy room, comfortable bed. An old hotel with photos of the early settlement of the community.
Otago Central Rail Trail across the road of the main street.
Breakfast was self serve cereal and toast which suited me.
