Amazing staff, so friendly and accommodating! And very nice room, great location.

Die Unterkunft war sauber das Bett bequem und die Gastgeberin sehr herzlich. A/c hat tadellos funktioniert. Die Gastgeberin stand mit Rat und Tat zur Stelle und war jederzeit erreichbar.

Das Moskitonetz war voll funktionstüchtig und gab ein sicheres Gefühl.

Das Zimmer hatte einen funktionierenden Safe und einen Balkon - man konnte Affen beobachten. Wir sind sehr viel Bus gefahren die Haltestelle ist schnell erreichbar.

because i live in the desert and the floral is limited, i really enjoyed that garden aspect of it. i enjoyed the trees, the river, and even the monkeys in the trees. the breakfast was a local breakfast. i thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the bread. the staff was so warm and welcoming. she even ironed my dress for me. the room was spacious and inviting. the inn is also in a walkable area. i walked to the beach and a local restaurant.

From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed by the kind and gracious host, Babi. She went above and beyond to make guests feel at home, setting the tone for a wonderful stay.

I was given the option to choose between two rooms, which was a nice touch. The Inn is beautifully designed and very clean, from the stylish entryway to the thoughtfully renovated rooms. My room was comfortable and well-equipped, with a great AC unit, overhead and bedside lighting, a fridge and a balcony overlooking the lush jungle—a peaceful spot to unwind.

The property also offers two guest kitchens and plenty of seating and lounge areas, making it easy to relax. It’s just a 10-minute walk to the surf beach, but I rented a bicycle, which made getting around even quicker and more convenient.

One of the biggest highlights? The hot water and incredible water pressure—an absolute treat after a long day of surfing!

Really nice quite place, close to the river and close to the beach. Great for staying for long time (in total we stayed for 2 weeks, for surfing, chilling and working remotely).
Comfortable bed and room with a balcony, a lot of plants which I totally loved, and beautiful scenary - loved sunsets from the roof! 😍

I would like to separately note that the hostess was very friendly, caring and helped with all questions very quickly 🙏🏻

Lovely staff. Room had a good view of the river. Nice breakfast, very generous portion. Had air con and a hot shower. Easy to walk to the beach from the hotel. WiFi was good

We had booked originally for 1 day but extended with 4 nights as this place was a great base to go surfing in Weligama. The location is very peaceful and quiet next to the river and it is only an 8-10 min walk to the beach. The host was amazing and did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. She prepared lovely breakfast every morning and cooked for us delicious curries for dinner. We definitely recommend staying here.

Very nice rooms, beautiful location and super welcoming and friendly hosts. The breakfast was affordable and delicious. Would very happily stay here again over anywhere else in Weligama.

Mrs Babi is the most amazing host we have ever had!! She will gladly help you with anything!! We‘ve had many bad experiences with hotels in Sri Lanka and this was by far the best! Everything clean and nice!
Especially it‘s a quiet oasis in noisy Weligama but still in walking distance to everything, if you don‘t mind short 5-10min walks!

If not just rent a scooter next door (2000 LKR a day) from Pelli Riverine super practical!

The terrace was also amazing to sit and relax on with the riverview room!

Very clean, very spacious and the host is so incredibly nice. It is very quiet and the rooms are very spacious and clean. We stayed 2 weeks and our room was even cleaned every couple of days. We are sad to leave.

The hotel was more than wonderful. I recommend it 100% !! My friends and I stayed in Sri Lanka in 6 different hotels, some of which were 5 stars. The Tinara Inn River Hotel was the best by far. Most importantly though, it was spotless, everything was perfectly clean from the outdoors areas to the rooms, which was quite difficult with our stays in Sri Lanka. Mrs Babi is very helpful, she makes you feel that she is hosting you in her home. She did everything to make us feel good, from the first minute we stepped foot in her hotel. In addition, it is in a perfect location!! You don't need tuk tuk to go to the beach because it's only a 5 minute walk. It is also , 3 minutes from the main street with the most famous breakfast and brunch coffee shops. Mrs Babi also helped us when we needed tuk tuk as well as a shuttle for our transfer to the airport!

First of all, the host was amazing! She is super kind and helpful. She does almost everything herself and makes the most delicious breakfast. Room is spacious and comfortable, with a nice balcony. The hotel is also perfectly located, super close to the town, but just far away enough for it to be quiet. Thank you for the great care! I would recommend this beautiful Inn to everybody! :)
