Cooked breakfast was very nice. Coffee good. Loved the quiet of the location.
First evening was nice. The hotel had been advised that my husband was diabetic and provided extra veg instead of potatoes. The next evening again was nice however there was a very limited menu. It appeared if you stayed more than 3 nights you would be repeating your choice of food as the menu did not seem to change. The food was lovely but a wider choice would have been appreciated.
We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very nice, lovely location, but the room was a little small.
Location is wonderful
Very disappointing stay – not as described
We stayed at Ardeonaig Hotel & Restaurant from 24–26 December 2025. On arrival on Christmas Eve, our lodge had been double booked, with another couple already inside, causing significant stress and disruption to our Christmas plans.
There was no Wi-Fi, the lodge was unclean (long black hair in the bathroom and bed), and there was visible mould on the bathroom walls and ceiling. The bathroom door handle was broken, making it unsafe to close. Despite raising these issues, no offer was made to move us to another lodge.
We were later offered a £50 discount on a future stay, despite the booking being non-refundable even when cancelling two weeks in advance, which felt inappropriate given the circumstances.
Overall, the accommodation and service were not as described, and the stay was very disappointing.

The room was very dated
The quality of the property’s rooms and public spaces. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful.
The property is a bit tricky to get to - along a challenging single track road. But this is also a positive unless you plan to use this property as a touring base.
Our breakfast was over-cooked and gave the impression of having been kept hot too long or reheated
The room was very nice, plenty of room and good bathroom.
The food was very good. Staff were friendly.
Limited hot food for breakfast.
We had to wait for check in not helped by being late in the season. They did ring ahead but some confusion on times but we got there in the end and they were helpful
The Ardeonaig Hotel is a wonderful and homely boutique hotel situated on the renowned Rob Roy Way and nestled on the shores of Loch Tay. Karen the owner is an excellent host and the hotel combines country inn rustic charm and high quality accommodation, an excellent restaurant and bar which delivers both relaxation and a superb customer experience. Loch Tay is a short stroll away and a mini pier and harbour provides the vantage point from which to marvel at the stunning landscape.
We enjoyed an evening meal which was excellent, the lamb was succulent and full of flavour as was vegetarian option which my wife ordered. The Stickly toffee pudding as delicious and the orange cheesecake jesty, and light to round off our meal. The porridge is a must order for breakfast along with all the traditional Scottish breakfast staples. Our Deluxe room as spacious, well presented and clean - the PIN access door lock we thought better than a key or swipe card. We loved that Karen provides a little mini milk churn flask of fresh milk and a signature Telephone Box tin contains their own home baked shortbread on the room drinks tray - none of the plastic UHT capsules here! It is this attention to detail that sets Ardeoniag above the rest in our opinion in raising the bar for others to follow!
Nothing not to like, but perhaps a positive suggestion for additional signage in the reception area for clearer directions down to the lower bar area would be helpful for guest orientation.
Isolated setting
No hairdryer in room
Lovely little hotel in a beautiful setting. Room was very nice, right at the front. Breakfast was delicious as was dinner we had there one of the nights. Staff were all friendly, courteous and helpful. Short walk to the shore of Loch Tay and the hotel has fishing rights on the loch. We had a lovely few days here.
Nothing really, the only thing I would highlight is that our room was really hot at night even with the window open and I think what contributed to that was that the towel radiator in the bathroom could not be turned off so even in July was giving out heat. It's an old building so the walls are thick and I guess that also holds the heat. Be aware that your room doesn't get cleaned every day and you don'tget fresh towels daily, which wasn't an issue for us as we were only there a couple of days but might be for some.
There are so many things to absolutely love about this hotel! The location is outstanding - surrounded by natural beauty. The room was super spacious, spotlessly clean and everything worked - genuinely one of the best rooms I’ve stayed in! Outdoor seating area by the river lovely too! We didn’t have dinner there but the breakfast was pretty good!
The reception areas and lounges need some work! They’re odd - some feel unfinished or not in use! It was all rather confusing - a reception desk in the middle of nowhere with a sign to reception that takes you to toilets! (Just to name a few oddities)! The most bizarre part and one which was a constant source of a good giggle for us was the staff situation! There was one person, dripping with sweat, checking people in, showing them to their rooms, serving at the bar and the restaurant - it was insane (all done might I add with a very big welcoming smile on his face). The next morning, the Spanish man who we had serving us at breakfast (an absolute character), was knocking on our door calling out ‘house-keeping’! I’ve seen complaints about this but for us it was quirky and at times made us feel like we were on a sitcom!
