The Great Hall is breathtaking & the Queen's Suite was lovely. We were able to leave the dog in the room while we had excellent food in the restaurant & breakfast.
We couldn't find any dedicated dog waste bins in the grounds.
lovely hotel ,,nice rooms super breakfast :) reasonable mid week rates
barking dogs across the the roads @ midnight :(
Everything was wonderful
Lovely character property, but with a modern twist

The location. The Grest Hall. The cosy fire.
The view.
Our room was a Queen Suite. It was attractive however, the decor was slightly shabby. Our wardrobe did not have enough hangers and the towels in the bathroom were worn, with threading at the edge. The extra channels on the TV did not work, and the explanation was that “it is probably due to recent bad weather”. Breakfast was adequate but somewhat rushed. A slightly later than 9.30 last orders would have been more convenient.
Good breakfast, and friendly staff.
Mould on the bathroom celling
A lovely old hall with an amazing ambiance, and on a winter day great log fires!
Bedroom was to a good standard.
My wife had a gluten attack after the evening meal/ breakfast after emphasising being celiac and we are not sure from what? A pity as everything seemed great.
No matter the season, the historic beauty and warmth of this place never fails to please!
The main hall was absolutely Wow decked out in all its festive glory with the magnificent Christmas tree and roaring open fire.
A special shout out to all the friendly,
helpful, hardworking staff, thank you!
We absolutely love this hotel. A beautiful building which has renovated very sympathetically and keeps a lot of the original features but is also very modern.
The staff were very engaging and nothing too much trouble.
We booked the queen room which is stunning.
The meal in the evening was beautiful and not overpriced at all, we had all three courses and it was substantial.
The best part of this property is the main room with the minstrel bannister and open fire, just so gorgeous in this cold weather.
Nothing
Lovely
Beautiful comfortable old house with friendly and attentive staff.
Loud Christmas party going on until after 12:30 right below bedroom and door to garden of function room wedged open so it was even louder.
Beautiful common areas and atmosphere. Lots of effort at Christmas.
I’ve been using the hotel for many years. The smaller rooms are looking tired and dated and aren’t as well maintained as they once were. I think it needs a refresh.
