Lots of character, delicious food, staff were generally excellent, gorgeous wedding, lovely decor.
- Fan in room needs to be stronger as not much impact when it’s very hot.
- Absolutely need parasols on outdoor seating at the rear so there is some shade when it’s hot. Really surprised a hotel of this quality doesn’t have any shade at the back at all.

Food was excellent, we attended a wedding which was very well catered, staff very pleasant and helpful
The bedroom was quite small with a small double bed and unfortunately we didn't discover until we were getting into bed late that night that the mattress was horrendous! The bed creaked and the mattress had completely collapsed on one side and was lumpy all over. Very poor nights sleep.
Food, room, breakfast, staff location.... all good.
There was a wedding (on a Thursday night) on that we weren't told about until we arrived and it was too late. Loud music 'til 1am then people chatting on the veranda until 5 am - just outside the bedroom windows which were single glazed. It was impossible to sleep. The fundamental role of a hotel is to provide somewhere to sleep. We got very little. The bedrooms should have been marked as booked out so non-wedding guests wouldn't have such a terrible night's sleep.

The historic old hall is amazing, and with a roaring log fire, you really feel like you've stepped back in time. The full English breakfast was top notch and staff were helpful and friendly. This is a popular venue for weddings, and you can see why.

The location was great The room was really comfortable . The restaurant staff and all staff were super helpful and the food was delicious.
Sad to discover there was no lift or even a chair lift which made getting up stairs for my 92 year old mum a real challenge ,
