We have been staying and dining at thd hotel for many years and also enjoy our stay.
Pros:

The view and food are excellent

Cons:

We would have liked the bar to be open a lot earlier than 8pm
The room prices have increased since change of management/ownership.

Excellent hotel with superb views of Lake Toya and friendly, welcoming staff
Pros:

The facilities - Onsen, swimming pool and fitness centre were what we had chosen the hotel for as we wanted an evening and morning of relaxation following two weeks of skiing. The facilities were excellent. There were different restaurants to choose from, Breakfast was either a set Japanese menu or an American buffet and cooked breakfast in a different restaurant. We opted for the American breakfast which was cooked superbly - we both had scrambled eggs. The buffet selection had fresh fruit and salad and a range of breads and pastries which were delicious. We had Sushi set menu for dinner which was prepared in front of us and the chef explained everything and was a delight. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.

一人旅、満喫しましたー！
Pros:

朝食が美味しかったです。車だったのでスパークリングワインが味わえなくて残念てした。朝日の中入る露天風呂も良かったです。
バーのマスターとの会話、カクテルももちろん美味しくて最高でした。
12時チェックアウトでとっても、のんびりくつろげました。

Cons:

お天気が良かったら、もっと景色が良かったかな？また泊まってみたいです。あともう少しお得だと何回も宿泊できるのになと思います。

最高
Pros:

初めて一泊しましたが、最高の一言に尽きます！！
とても豪華で綺麗なホテルでした。
スタッフの方も親切でとても気持ち良く過ごせました。
ロビーではハーブの生演奏と共にお洒落で美味しいウエルカムドリンクをいただきました。
プールも広くて綺麗でジャグジーもあり、快適でした。
お風呂では雪見露天風呂があり、とても風情があって最高のひとときでした。
食事も本当に美味しくて雰囲気も優雅で、最高の思い出になりました。
またぜひ泊まりに行きたいと思います。

A huge disappointment mitigated by the breath taking views.

It in a perfect location and the views are breath taking.

Cons:

The staff is not trained to handle black guests. There are no mechanisms in place to accommodate non-Japanese speaking guests as well. All amenities relating to dining, shopping and activities are curated in a rigid none negotiable manner. There is rude young man from house keeping who had the guts to answer his phone whilst delivering laundry whilst standing in the middle of the room and he had a protracted conversation not caring about the comfort of the guests. Maybe it’s a race issue.

A dissapointed and regretful stay
Pros:

View is worth it

Cons:

Only two bottles of mineral water per day per room no extra. And we paid a premium.

Winter activity not opened and did not contact us earlier. Should have give notice before booking.com confirmation or website announcement. I couldnt even borrow a sled from the reception eventhough the snow there was already thick enough to play. For the amount i paid for the stay its not worth it if there isnt any winter activities should have went to niseko or kiroro instead.

Its a hastle to get to the hotel location. The hot spring there doesnt feel like a real hot spring as we cant smell the sulphur. The hotel is too old to be charge this premium. It doesnt feel like a five star hotel.
