Lovely hotel but can be noisy with live music
Pros:

Great location, staff very friendly and great food.

Cons:

We were foe warned of an 80th birthday party on in the hotel and that we might hear some music during the night. We did and it was extremely loud, it continued until 12.40am. When I rang reception during the night and requested for a late check out of 1pm due to the loud music & I was unable to sleep it was denied, which I thought was unfair considering I was unable to sleep.

Pros:

Location was convenient and the apartment was a good size

Cons:

Heating was way too warm when we came in (it was the hottest day of the year). We tried to turn off the radiators but this didn't work.
The staff said that they would turn off the heat which I believe they did when we weren't there, but as a result they must have turned off the water also because our showers were all cold the next morning.
The handle in the shower was rusty and there was some hair in the shower base.
The night porter did not order a taxi for my mother going home that evening, which I think is a fairly standard request for a hotel and disappointing that they did not assist her. I also requested a jug of tap water for my room which he declined to provide to me.

Staff were lovely and so helpful.

Cons:

The room was very hot and stuffy but if the you left the window open...the person in room next door can just walk in !

Good stop over room.p
Pros:

The room was not as expected but pleasant enough. Parking was good. We thought breakfast started at 7 am but it didnt on Sunday its 8pm. We had to leave early to catch a ferry but had paid breakfast so was disappointed it wasnt open in time. Linda went out of her way to help us get somthing to eat from things she had already set out which we were really grateful. Great to see a staff member thinking on her feet and getting us fed. A huge credit to the hotel.

Cons:

A bit shoddy, really needs a bit of a new paint and maintenance on some items. But clean enough.
