If we are visiting Sheffield again we would definitely stay here again.
Pros:

The staff, especially Helen were helpful and very attentive. I could not fault the service at all.
The food was excellent and the hotel is lovely inside.
Good location and near the city centre.

The stay was only spoilt by the size of the room.
Pros:

The staff were excellent and friendly

Cons:

The room that we occupied was advertised as a small double but in fact was only the size of a single. The double bed was jammed against the outside wall with no access.

I have eaten here many times, the food is fantastic and the team are brilliant. Decided to stay over and it was just as
Pros:

Stunning bathrooms and the staff couldn't do more to make me feel welcome and went out of their way to make the experience the best it could be. Will return and would recommend.

Cons:

Nothing. I had one issue with a radiator that was too hot and the team moved me to the adjacent room whilst they got someout to fix the radiator, these things happen and I was looked after, thank you guys!

Dinner was absolutely superb. This chef definitely deserves recognition.
Pros:

Our evening meal was superb, delicious from start to finish. There wasn't anything that was not superb.
The chef catered very well for 1 persons wheat allergy and intolerance to onions and garlic.
The reception staff were excellent.
A lovely touch, when booking I was asked if & what we were celebrating. We received a congratulations card signed by the staff and Tom, the celebrated chef. It's the little things that make a difference.

Cons:

The breakfast didn't quite meet up to the same standard as the dinner the evening before but it was made by different staff.
We parked on the street which was fine as the car park was full mid afternoon when we arrived.
Very creaky corridors but it didn't spoil our stay.

Welcoming, lovely rooms and breakfast. Other eateries and city centre just 10mins by taxi
Pros:

Helpful, timely communication at booking. Volunteered upgraded rooms to reduce number of stairs for elderly mobility. Rooms are lovely, with nice modern but tasteful decor and the showers, love the light-up mirrors in the bathroom - best ever for putting on make-up! Also, radiators were adjustable in our rooms, so the temperature you want. Very kind, friendly and helpful throughout visit. Provided good taxi number so we could make a quick visit to town. No lunch/evening hot food Monday-Wednesdays (makes sense as less visitors then), but is only a short 5 minutes drive from the Mercure Sheffield Kenwood Hall Hotel & Spa where they’ve nice bars and a restaurant with great food. The Psalter Breakfast is an additional cost (some older reviews mention but it’s changed since) but very nice cold and hot options - well worth paying for. Although we had to exit rooms by 10am, we were able to hang around in the breakfast room and have coffees etc. until we had to leave.

Cons:

The Psalter is 2 properties combined into 1 - so there are more up and down stairs than in some, and No lift. However, when I mentioned an elderly person, they thought to move our ‘Small Double’ rooms (mostly on 2nd floor / further from stairs) to larger doubles on the first floor to minimise stairs for elderly member of party.

Very good hotel, we would recommend it.
Pros:

The location was great for a visit to our family. A very clean and tidy place, obviously newly refurbished. Beautiful bathroom and shower. Easy parking. Very good breakfast and delightful and attentive staff.

Cons:

The room was rather small, and the stairs to reach it seemed endless.

Would love to use this hotel again, but wouldn’t choose to stay here because of the very hard bed.
Pros:

The location was great. Staff were friendly.

Cons:

The bed was so hard we couldn’t sleep. The hotel tried to help by giving us a duvet on top of the mattress but it didn’t solve the issue.
