Cracking breakfast, friendly staff, well cared for room.
Pros:

Lovely warm smile on entry from Kenzie/McKenzie, didn't quite catch her name, was a little confusion over the booking initially but swiftly resolved. The breakfast in the morning was superb, just a shame I had to dash and leave some of it. Free Wifi provided.

Cons:

Can't be helped really but the pub doesn't have it's own car park. The music in the pub can be heard from the guest bedrooms and road noise is evident, fortunately, the village is quiet later in the evening. The Alnwick Castle room is next to the communal bathroom and you can hear the sink etc. through the wall.

Great stay
Pros:

Friendly pub, good food, lovely staff. Room cosy and clean - everything I’d hope for in a pub stay. Simple continental breaky in the morning before my walk. Thanks Hermitage inn, lovely stay.

Cons:

Booked for new year 3nights,rang straight away to ask if my dog could stay and was told yes.Got there and was told no dogs allowed.Staff were not nice about it,and a stranger kindly took me back to my home which was nearly 50 mile away..Nice to know there was a kind lady listening to the conversation that was had and her whole family didn't stay at the place either.

Just what I was hoping for
Pros:

Very comfortable. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. Breakfast splendid and very good value for money. Pub / bar has character and warm welcome.

Cons:

For me, it was just what I was looking for. Others may look for something different but good for me.

Lovely friendly people willing to help good location looked busy local pub very dog friendly

Good location friendly staff good basic rooms

Cons:

A little bit of attention to cleaning required lots of dust in extractor fan in bathroom mark in carpet right as you come in the door good supply of tea coffee etc but would be better in a basket felt guilty tipping them all out to use mugs and leaving them on the top
Bed side lamp a little to dim to read by.
