Staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. Was out the way so very quiet and peaceful.
The room wasn’t very clean, had cobwebs in multiple places, bathroom had mould around the bath so didn’t use. Bed wasn’t very comfy, mattress seemed old and had dents in so you’d roll to the middle. Wouldn’t say it was worth £100 a night given location and room.
Beautiful location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were large. Wonderful views.
It was very warm.
Breakfast was late because the staff member had a car failure.
Better mattress
Very friendly staff, very good ambiance. Old building which has kept the old building feel. Nice grounds well kept. The free buffet on Friday evening was a nice touch. We thought the drinks were reasonably priced but we are used to London Prices. Our friends from the local area thought they were a little expensive. Room we had was clean tidy and with enough room for us. Good facilities for a 3 star hotel. No air conditioning but a fan was provided which was very handy as it was hot. Breakfast was good and served when we wanted it.
Driving out onto the road there was a slightly blind bend on the right. We could also have done without the fire alarm going off at 3:30 am. We got to the bottom of the stairs before we were informed it was a false alarm. But these things happen.
Its does what it says on the tin.
Friendly staff and a lovely breakfast.
I had a very comfortable stay, and the staff were most accommodating. Beautiful surroundings.
6.30am wake-up call of plane taking off from Manchester airport!
we arrived to book in and the car park was empty, we entered the hotel which looked almost abandoned outside. on entering there was no reception or staff, there were dead flies, dust and webs, in the lounge, cushions had been left on the floor, the bar was shattered and there were empty glasses and bottles around. There was clearly no one around so we made the decision to leave as we really didn't want to see what the rooms looked like. Just as we were about to drive off, someone came up to the car to ask if we were booking in, we said no, we didn't want to spend £100 for a room here, he said ok and left and so did we.
It wasn't too busy considering the football was on. The staff were friendly and chatty.
The room was very hot but not surprising in the summer heat we have had.
Great value for money. Comfortable room, dog friendly. Staff so nice , nice buffet provided on arrival and good breakfast included.
Restaurant closed so no other food
options available.
It was in a great location and peaceful. The bar and pub food was lovely and a breakfast was included. The chef cooked me scrambled eggs and was really accommodating.
I could not find the hairdryer but I had taken my own.
Good location for what I wanted. Room clean. Coffee/tea in room plentiful.
Bed not comfortable, very "bouncy" & it sneaked every time you moved!
Requested breakfast at 8.30, (available 8-10) area not open & no staff about until 8.45.
Very friendly staff lovely food really enjoyed it.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and made you feel very welcome ...food was good
The grounds were water logged and lawns unkempt making it difficult to walk your dog ....
Clean room, comfy bed, nice bathroom.
Party going on when I got there, making downstairs sitting are unusable, due to noise.
No restaurant available due to party. Was offered party buffet, but what was left was not very hot & had been out for some time.
Due to leaving early next morning I was offered a cold breakfast, but the dining room was locked.
Good size bed and excellent cooked breakfast.
The rooms are overdue a refurb.
