Staff were very welcoming and helpful
Pros:

Room was large and clean, bedding on one of our beds had a small stain but the pillows were lovely. Bathroom had a good shower and plenty towels.

Dinner was lovely with a good choice or food, I had the fish it was delicious

Breakfast the main food was cooked to order and lovely and hot, the cold selection could have had more fruit apart from that a good selection of bread, teas and juice.

Pool area was clean and well looked after

The spa was one of the best I have visited in the UK.
Pros:

The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful with a reasonable choice at the continental buffet and a cooked breakfast brought to table.

We actually dined at the Rookery which I believe is affiliated to the hotel and it was really very good.

Cons:

Picking up your own hot and cold drinks at breakfast was a little bit of a balancing act and would have preferred waiter service, but did not seriously detract from the experience.

The hotel is lovely but it is the staff that made our stay.
Pros:

All of the staff we met during our stay were excellent. The room was comfortable and clean. The food was delicious.

Cooked Scottish breakfast a bit dry & tasteless but plenty other choice.
Pool & facilities much improved since refurb

1st room we had had a very unpleasant smell about it.Spoke with housekeeping & they advised contacting reception.We were given
another room which was better

Poor communication from staff, no direction on where to find things around the hotel.
Pros:

Comfortable bed, good setting and very clean.

Cons:

Poor information from staff, not always able to find staff to assist. Was not explained about the holding fee on bank account for room charges and still awaiting the money to be returned to me.
