i was asked if I wanted an upgrade on arrival as only booked single room/single bed and for a minimal fee upgraded. Room was exceptionally clean and a great shower + bed was very comfy + great air con. Staff were really helpful and friendly and we stayed to watch the footy in the bar drinking really good quality wine and having fun.
The garden area is lovely and the general atmostphere of the hotel was a really friendly vibe.
Would recommend and stay again if going to Newmarket :-)

Like a maze. No parking. Food terrible.
This hotel is a hidden gem. On drawing up in the car park we were not sure what to expect but once we were through to the reception we were delighted with the new, clean and tasteful decor. The staff were very helpful and explained everything we needed to know. We had booked a small room with a large double bed. The room was compact but turned out to be spacious enough with every convenience from air conditioning to a fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave. The ensuite shower was powerful, the bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. We were impressed with this boutique style hotel and hope to stay there again soon.
The entrance hall at the front door does not give a true impression of the rest of the hotel.

Stated there was free parking on the booking.com web site but it was first come first serve and where you could park was very precarious parking spaces

Forget the carpark, very small. If you do manage to get a space, you're likely to get boxed in! Use nearby pubic car park or park on the main street (free 6pm-8am)
