Besides the check-in process the rest was really good.
Pros:

Food was really good, Bar / Restaurant staff were really polite and friendly. Location was spot on.

Cons:

When I arrived, there was no one at reception, and I was left waiting for 10 mins until the staff member who saw me arrive finished whatever he was eating and decided to check me in. When he did check me in, he gave me the room card and told me the room number, and that was it; no other conversation or information was conveyed.
It really annoyed me, as that is the complete opposite of customer care, and that man should not be manning reception!!
The rooms are also a bit dated and could do with a lick of paint.

Great stay on our way to Dublin!
Pros:

Sadly we got in too late to have dinner but the breakfast was lovely. Generous portions and I even had a latte!
Bed was comfy and good water pressure.

Cons:

Furnishings are a bit dated.

Food was great the rooms are in need of a total upgrade if you are in the area stay in Athlone
Pros:

We had an evening meal and it was excellent,Breakfast was also excellent.We found the staff helpful and attentive.

Cons:

The location is too far to walk back into town, the room was very basic and in need of a total make over, the bathroom is very tired and needs replaced and the bedroom furniture should be put in a skip.
