Perfect one night away destination.
Pros:

Wonderful warm welcome and old-fashioned hospitality
Pros:

A great place run by great people: they couldn't have been more accommodating. A proper old-style country inn with loads of history and a fantastic atmosphere. Decent dining, too, and though it was minus 8 outside the rooms were lovely and warm. 390 years in and this is an excellent place.

Pros:

Stayed one night in 2 rooms on 18th November.
Staff attentive and friendly.
Dinner served in small area with 4/5 tables and a coal fire which was lovely on a cold November night.
Menu extensive, large portions and the food was very good.
Breakfast was cooked and served by Peggy who was delightful.
Hope to go back and would definitely recommend this property

Great offering at a really affordable price point
Pros:

Lovely location and splendid staff. Both bar and restaurant had great atmosphere. If you are looking for an ‘inn’ vibe - you will not be disappointed.
