Tama Hotel

A fantastic place to stay. A unique experience to be able to hang out with the cats and a very comfortable hotel. The owner/managers and very kind and helpful and have thought of everything to ensure a great stay. The lifts to and from the ferry to Tashiro island, with a stop for baked goods, the bicycles available to borrow and the overall kindness is wonderful, Definitely a place to stay for a unique Japanese experience.

Chambre assez grande, plus que ce qu’en disait l’annonce (15 m2 environ au lieu de 9). Pas de bruit le soir de mon séjour. Petit coin cuisine. Parking facile.

The owner is hands-down the best thing about this property. He has a fantastic system for translating into English and is so incredibly warm, generous and welcoming. As my husband said, ‘He is just the nicest guy!’ He took us to and from the cat island and that eased a lot of our worries. Also - cats! It’s a cat hotel with a lot of cats living there. That was also a great feature of this hotel.

The room was comfortable and perfect for our short trip to Ishinomaki. The host was so welcoming and helpful with getting us to and from Cat Island. We also spent time in the cat cafe and helped feed the cats! I highly recommend this place especially if you want to visit Cat Island.

You can tell that the property owner loves what he does. The best time to see the cats is during dinner time, otherwise they seemed to prefer to keep to themselves. The owner provides snacks, free wine, and more manga than you could read in a month. Clean bathroom and kitchen in the provided room.

The host is unique, Elvis and cat lover. Very good fun. If you love cats and are visiting cat island, this is the place.

We absolutely loved our stay at Tama Hotel — it was truly unforgettable.
From the moment we checked in, we were treated with the utmost care and kindness. This isn’t just a hotel, it’s an experience.

The owner is incredible — thoughtful, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about creating a special stay for every guest. We were introduced to all 14 resident cats, each with their own personality, and even completed a little cat‑holding test before being allowed to cuddle one of the owner’s cats. It was such a fun, unique touch.

There are so many thoughtful extras: free wine, beautiful body creams, bath salts, and cosy spaces to relax with the cats. In the evening we watched all 14 cats gather for feeding time, which was chaotic, adorable, and one of the highlights of our trip.

The owner even drove us to the ferry for Cat Island, which made the whole day so easy and stress‑free.

We couldn’t recommend this place enough — it’s warm, quirky, memorable, and made with so much love. A perfect stay for any cat lover or anyone wanting a truly special experience in Ishinomaki.

The hospitality of Mino, the hotel manager. He was friendly, had a great sense of humor and let us feed and play with his cats. He made sure that we felt right at home.

He was very nice and offered to drive us to the Tashirojima ferry station, though in the end we couldn't go due to bad weather.

Our stay was fun We definitely intend to visit again!

The room was amazing, with 4 large beds, a massage chair, and a small kitchen with a table for four people.
There is even a "cat hotel", with 14 cats, that you can feed at 7pm.
And the manager was super super friendly, he drove us to the ferry to go to cat's island. Saiko desu !

J’ai rarement été aussi bien accueilli dans un hotel. Tout était exceptionnel !
Chambre spacieuse et confortable, il y avait carrément un bar à whisky gratuit et un siège massant !
Le gérant a été un amour du début jusqu’à la fin. Il nous a d’abord présenté tous les chats qui habitent l’hôtel puis nous a ensuite emmené gratuitement au centre ville pour nous éviter de marcher.
À cause de la tempête, nous n’avons pas pu visiter l’île des chats, mais cette expérience compense largement ce que nous avons raté sur l’île. Encore merci pour cet accueil exceptionnel.
Je conseille à n’importe qui qui est de passage à Inomaki d’aller au Tama Hotel les yeux fermés !

Before I book this hotel I’ve seen glowing reviews about the manager and when I met him, he passed way above my expectations. He is truly the gem of the property!

I understand that we arrived late and I’m surprised that he still made sure that we were properly introduced to the resident cats! They are all cute! He even allowed us to carry the outside cat on our shoulders. The following day, he drove us to the port and he went an extra mile to lend us cash because what we have is not enough! (Let it serve as a hard lesson!) Ferry fee costs ¥1,250 one way and ¥2,500 for return. We were so embarrassed yet he made sure that we’ll get to Tashirojima island by hook or by crook. :,) We’re truly grateful for his kindness. He even waved our ferry goodbye! (We paid him back after the trip!) And yes, he took us to ishinomaki station to catch our train to Sendai. We couldn’t thank him enough. What a hero. Everyone, please, if you decide to visit Tashirojima island! Stay in Ishinomaki and stay in Tama hotel! You’ll never regret it! :)

貓的家在隔壁棟，進去是用餐區，右手邊的門進去才是貓屋，但貓屋的貓味比較重，看自己在不在意
馬路對面有姊妹館，一樓有沐浴鹽、腳踏車、漫畫和酒等都可以使用
老闆很熱情，抱一隻貓給我們抱，還送貓的徽章，聽我們隔天要去貓島，就先查資訊告訴我們可能不會開船
隔天還先帶我們去麵包店，讓我們挑選想吃麵包招待我們，麵包很好吃，再帶我們去港口搭船，雖然最後還是因為風太大沒開船，很可惜
三人房裡面有4種威士忌可以喝，很大間
單人房的蓮蓬頭是貓腳造型的，很可愛，還可以切換噴水的模式，但我住的那間蓮蓬頭跟管子連接處會噴水，所以洗頭髮還會噴到臉
