Stunning Star Hotel
Pros:

Enjoyed room 11 that had a huge comfy, king bed with ensuite and gorgeous old fashioned side table and dresser. Personal touches good quality tea and coffee with kettle and bottle of filtered water set on old style tray. Large fridge, microwave and china and cutlery also provided. Jason the manager, was friendly, helpful and explained history of Hotel

On arrival to access entry, not sure of button to press, so suggest a clearer sign which button to press.

Perfect for overnight stay.
Pros:

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely old building, large room and high ceilings. Currently being restored and renovated with care and attention to details.

Cons:

Mattress topper a bit too large. Crisper sheets would be great.

warm & charming
Pros:

This place oozes charm. It's not for the 5 star crew looking for a pool and fancy bar. But if you like a classic building, good friendly staff and a red wine next to an open fire in the cigar lounge then this is the place. Super cost effective & still only a 6 minute walk from the centre of towm. We love staying at the Star.

Cons:

More an FYI there is no bar it's BYO

Great value room for the Traveller
Pros:

Loved the spacious heritage room with eclectic furnishings. Good size bed and it was comfortable, especially after along drive.

Cons:

Unfortunately the road noise was constant as the trucks passed by all night. Solid to midnight and slowed a little until morning when the frequency ramped up gain

Basic for what I required. Due to the bathroom facility, I would not take my wife there
Pros:

Room was clean, bed was comfortable.

Cons:

One bathroom / toilet to service too many rooms. Luckily we were the only persons there otherwise would have been a terrible line up.
