We had an absolutely wonderful stay here with our two young children (5 and 1.5 years old). Everyone at the property was incredibly attentive to all our family's needs and made us feel right at home. The rooms were fantastic—spotless, spacious, and extremely comfortable, which is exactly what you need with a toddler. Also, after a hot morning safari, coming back to relax in their beautiful pool was an absolute lifesaver for the kids!
A huge plus was how they handled our safari: they organized a great driver for us without any extra markups, and we were able to pay the driver directly. It made the whole experience so stress-free! The food was another massive highlight. The breakfast was amazing and perfectly set us up for the day. For dinner, we ate at the hotel—it was very reasonably priced, absolutely delicious, and even our young kids loved eating the curries! Highly recommend this place for anyone, especially families, looking for a perfect safari base.

Absolutely flawless stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The location is away from town, but absolutely perfect for nature lovers. There is nothing more relaxing than spending the afternoon in the swimming pool watching and listening to animals in their natural habitat. It felt like a private safari from the comfort of the water. It might be further away from town, but really you didn't come to Udawale to see it. And after all you will not want to leave anyway as every meal we had there was delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough! They will also help you to organize everything for a fair price what made our visit super easygoing. And most importantly our room was spotlessly clean. Take my advice and stay there for at least two nights. Don't rush back to the touristic beach and enjoy how time slows down over there.

Toller Aufenthalt im Udawalawe-Nationalpark
Pros:

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt im Vimanra. Das Zimmer ist klein aber völlig ausreichend. Highlight für uns war die vom Hotel organisierte Nachmittag Safari. Morgens waren wir im wunderschönen Pool schwimmen. Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker und der Hotelchef sehr freundlich.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would happily return. The facilities were excellent—everything was well-maintained, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged to make guests feel at home. It was clear that a lot of care goes into ensuring visitors have everything they need for a relaxing stay.

A special mention goes to the host, who truly made our experience exceptional. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, and even prepared breakfast for us outside of the regular hours, which we greatly appreciated. He was also very responsive to messages, always quick to reply and helpful with any questions we had.

Cleanliness throughout the property was outstanding. Our room and all common areas were spotless, which made us feel very comfortable from the moment we arrived.

We stayed here for two nights in connection with our safari in Udawalawe, and it was a truly lovely experience.

The hotel is very cozy and beautifully located by the river. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful with everything, which made us feel very welcome from the start.

We had the best Sri Lankan curry of our entire trip on both evenings – absolutely delicious. The owner’s Great Dane was adorable, and the two sweet puppies brought so much joy, especially to our daughter.

The room was large and simple. It was not luxurious, but the warm atmosphere and genuine hospitality more than made up for the few minor shortcomings.

A wonderful stay that we will carry with us as a special memory from Sri Lanka.

Mooi hotel, rustig gelegen, en je kunt met een tuktuk makkelijk richting het drukkere centrum. Kamers zijn ruim, comfortabel en met een nette badkamer met warme douche. Zwembad heerlijk warm. Het hotel serveert voor een klein bedrag heerlijke rice and curry 's avonds. Voor onze 4-jarige dochter werd speciaal rijst met gekookte groenten gemaakt. We hebben via het hotel een safari naar het nationale park (middag, 3 uur durend) geregeld, wat leuk was. Aan te raden voor een heerlijk rustig verblijf met prima service en heel goede prijs/kwaliteit.

Большой комфортный номер, чистый. Теплый бассейн. интересные виды на реку. Хозяин помог забронировать сафари-тур по хорошей цене.

Cons:

Главная проблема была в том, что во время нашего проживания на соседней вилле был местный праздник, хозяин знал об этом, но не предупредил... Громкая музыка до часа ночи, а мы после поездки на сафари!!!

Beautiful guesthouse with a lovely garden full of birds. Perfect location for the safari and they organised this for us. They also provided very tasty rice and curry and a great Sri Lankan breakfast on request.
