Pelican Lake

Unser Aufenthalt war wunderschön. Namil und sein Team waren alle sehe zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Egal welches Thema wir hatten uns wurde schnell geholfen.
Wir wurden sehr gut bekocht mit leckeren lokalen Gerichten. Wir haben uns sehr gefreut mit den lokales ins Gespräch zu kommen.
Die Location ist unglaublich schön. Jeden morgen hat ein Pfau auf der anderen Flussseite seine schönen Federn zur Schau gestellt. Eine Herde Wasserbüffel hat sich mittags im Wasser abgekühlt. Und viele verdchiedene Vögel sind überall zu beobachten. Das Zimmer ist simpel eingerichtet aber hat alles was man braucht, vor allem weil man die meiste Zeit auf der großen Terasse am Wasser verbringen kann

Alles zusammen haben wir unsere Zeit sehr genossen!

Super Unterkunft in fantastischer Lage am See, den man mit dem Tretboot kostenfrei erkunden kann. Das Essen ist überaus lecker und abwechslungsreich und die Zimmer sehr geräumig und mit tollen Balkonen ausgestattet. Der Gastgeber vermittelt Ausflüge aller Art und auch bei meiner Weiterreise wurde mir sehr geholfen. Auf der Anlage kann man zudem Tiere aller Art entdecken, darunter Pfauen, verschiedene Eisvögel und riesige Eichhörnchen. Volle Empfehlung!

This hotel is located in an amazingly beautiful and quiet place on the lake. We were delighted to see dancing peacocks just in front of our room every day, and we even spotted a mongoose and a giant squirrel!

The hotel grounds have plenty of cozy spots where you can sit on a bench with your laptop or simply enjoy the views. Our room was spacious, with high ceilings and a private terrace. Everything was clean, and the hot water in the shower was good.

The breakfasts were varied and delicious, and the dinners were simply huge. The owner of the hotel, Nimal, treated us to traditional Sri Lankan dishes, as well as incredibly tasty fish caught right in the lake.

But the biggest impression was left by the owner himself, Nimal. He is an extraordinarily kind, responsive, and caring person. During our stay, I injured my hand, and Nimal not only helped arrange a visit to the doctor but also personally drove me to the hospital several times in his car, helped me buy medicine, and provided moral support. I am endlessly grateful to him for his kindness and support.

This hotel is really perfect for those who appreciate nature, tranquility, and genuine care.

The home made food was incredible and the family was lovey

Very peaceful location right on the lake. Not quiet during the day with peacocks and other birds plus the water buffalo passing twice a day but peaceful nonetheless. Owners were really helpful arranging food safaris and onward transfer.

We enjoyed our recent stay at Pelicane Lake a lot. We were welcomed with a coconut drink and enjoyed a great lunch upon arrival.

Our host was very friendly, always ready to assist.

The accommodations were comfortable and clean. The rooms were equipped with AC and a balcony with a view into the nice garden and towards the lake.

The location of Pelicane Lake is perfect for both relaxation and exploration. We started our tour into Udawalawe National Park from here and it was a short walk to main street where lots of restaurants could be found.

Overall, my experience at Pelicane Lake was fabulous and very relaxing.

amazing spot on the lake, very peaceful to stay during the day by the lake and riding on the swan watching the incredible view of the buffalos crossing the lake. the owner is very nice and helpful. we had a flat tire so he made sure
someone fix it and we were ready to go within an hour. for sure coming back to spend few peaceful days

Friendly host Nimal. Quiet place at walking distance of town. Breakfast near lake watching gorgeous birds.

Great small setting on the edge of the water. Lots of birds and water monitors. The farmer brings his buffalo to wallow in the lake twice a day. The beds are big and comfortable. The owner is very friendly with three lovely children. They taught us to play caroom. The food was delicious and plentiful.
