The location near to the RSPB site.
The comfortable bed.
Something was very wrong in the kitchen and there was a smaller scaled down menu due to this.
We were not told about this before we arrived at the hotel, nor during our arrival. The table we had booked in the restaurant was given to another couple due to the ensuring chaos.
The leading waitress gave us concessions due to this, which was kind.
On the second night, we were anticipating a menu which at least had some variation on the scaled down menu. There was none. Neither had we been informed again. The leading waitress said the information about the lack of meal choices had gone on Facebook for the community. She had failed to inform ourselves however, the residents of The Rose and Crown.
Consequently, we cut short our stay and left for home at 6.00pm. We drove 4 hours after a very early birdwatching morning, but glad to be away from a hotel which did not seem to have any respect for its residents, and whose staff did not seem to feel like there was any need to communicate in order that their residents could make informed choices.
The pub had great, local ales on tap (including their own one called Rose and Crown) and had delicious food with great service
The staff were really friendly and so is the Rose and Crown. The food was delicious.
