Expensive 'just a pass mark' of a room.
Pros:

Staff nice, particularly the breakfast ladies.

Cons:

Room was run down. Basic little aesthetic jobs left to become a load of little jobs. Scuffs in paint, old leaks left on bathroom ceiling, socks from other guests under bed, black mould in shower along sealant. Basics just left instead of addressed.
Basic things that when not done they add up to a room that feels run down and frankly, a bit dirty and not value for money.

Lovely property ruined by staff & food quality

Cons:

Staff seemed miserable & some downright rude. Food was dreadful.
Steak in pie was inedible. Vegetables practically raw. Crumble was uncooked & almost raw

Cons:

tried to book a table for 4 for dinner on the Friday night before we arrived. was told fully booked. Asked why guests did not get tables held back, was told no. When we arrived was asked if we wanted a table for dinner as they kept tables back for guest, when i told them i had already called the day before to book a table and was told no. We had a ready made other plans and had to leave the hotel to have dinner. was not happy.
