Excellent for one night stop
The property of full of history and heritage and the owner has a wealth of knowledge to share.
As other reviews have said this could be described as a quirky hotel.
But it’s that what makes it an interesting place to stay rather than a run of the mill chain hotel.
Some might say it’s old fashioned, but our room was spotless.
It’s a fantastic location, just off the M6 so a great place for a stop over.
It was a really warm welcome and we felt right at home and looked after.
The continental Breakfast was very good and lots of choice.
Overall excellent value for money and we would have no hesitation in staying again.
Nothing to dislike for us.
Beautiful location. Interesting old house. Good continental breakfast. Very comfortable room.
Little dated but very clean and spacious.
Charming hosts
We wanted to make an early start in the morning, so would miss breakfast. The staff very kindly offered to make up packed lunches for us to take with us, which they left out for us. Very generous of them and much appreciated.
There was no clear signage in the car park, or outside the building, advising where to go to book in on arrival. We were hoping to be able to get an evening meal at the hotel, but they only serve breakfast. However, there was a choice of dining venues nearby so it was not a problem.
Beautiful hotel, very historical
nothing
Staff were very helpful. We were helping our son move and didnt get in till after midnight very understanding.
Nothing
Lovely old property
Maybe a few colourful pictures in the rooms
Very nice as expected from other reviews staff very friendly and helpful
No restaurant facilities for evening food, and not able to walk to anywhere near!
It was very a very quaint Interesting property with lots of traditional features. Lovely surroundings

Owners and staff went above and beyond to make everything a great stay. Couldn't ask for more.
Nothing, it was perfect for our little group.
The building is beautiful and in a good location for traveling along the A74 (M)
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially the lady who did breakfast service.
Our room was a good size, clean warm and comfortable.
It was lovely to have a bath and shower and plenty of hot water.
The bed was super comfy and we both had a excellent sleep.
Breakfast was continental and excellent, lots of choice lovely warm croissants, toast and boiled eggs and unlimited good coffee.
Great value for money and would highly recommend.
The room felt a little dated, could do with some modernisation.
Only continental breakfast available which was not mentioned when booking, due to hotel having no chef
Room supplied was not what we booked, twin instead of family room.
TV in room was very small and hard to view
Old, basic and friendly. Cant fault price which was great.
Nice wee packed breakfast/lunch ready for us as we were leaving before breakfast which was a nice touch
Place could do with new windows and a wee freshen up, but it would be alot more expensive then so nothing that we didn't like
Comfortable room and excellent breakfast
No restaurant although online information indicated there was.
Staff were delightful. Friendly, happy and very helpful.
Food was excellent and there was plenty of it and a very good variety.
It was very clean and our needs or requests were catered for each day with no problems. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty storage.
The hotel was quirky and interesting in its decor and lay out and gave us a different, but good experience of a hotel compared to other hotels we have been in. Worth a visit!
The Wi-Fi was poor. We had to go out onto the stairwell each time we wanted to connect and it disconnected when not being used and then we had to go out to the stairwell again to reconnect.
The shower was not brilliant and difficult to use the controls. It was within a bath and we are elderly and found it hazardous trying to get in and out of the bath especially as there was no hand grip to help us and no non slip bath mat to stop us slipping on the wet floor of the bath. I would suggest this is a safety issue!
Nice friendly welcome, great breakfast.
All good
Quirky hotel waiting easy reach of motorways and local towns. Very friendly owners who looked after us really well. Although breakfast was continental ,it was more than adequate and really nice. Room was very comfortable and decorated very nicely although a little dated. This all helped maintain the charm of an old hall with history.
