Receptionist good but not warm

The owners and staff were very welcoming and helpful in so many ways. The hotel is just a block from the train station, but there is no noise. The east facing balconies are amazing--you feel like you can reach out and touch the mountains. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I would stay there again.
We stayed at the Alpina for 11 nights and enjoyed it very much. This is a small family hotel, quite intimate and warm. The location is very convenient, it is near the main street of Grindelwald but not directly on it, so it is rather quiet. Breakfast is good and dinner is usually very good. The staff at the reception (quite often the owner himself) were very helpful and friendly. Since the rooms have no air conditioning, we were offered a fan which made a difference during the heat wave in june.
Although the staff in the dining room work very hard, the service is not efficient or well organized and often we had to wait a long time to catch a waiter's eye. At breakfast, when some of the food products at the buffet were finished, we had to ask the waiters to replenish them - they did not alwais do so at their own initiative.

There was so much to like about our stay at Hotel Alpina. To start, it's right in the center of Grindelwald, only a short walk up from the Grindelwald Central train station (not Grindelwald Terminal). All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Mia and Nicholas served us wonderful meals and took time to have conversations with us. Our room was more than we could imagine, with incredible views of the mountains. Since the hotel is one block above the main street in Grindelwald, the views from our terrace were unobstructed. We had plenty of room for our carry-on-sized luggage and enjoyed the provided seating. I even took the time to use the desk to write in my travel journal. However, the most amazing part of the room is outside on the terrace with a table and chairs to look out over the incredible landscape. If you choose to dine in, you'll be treated to meals that we thought were delicious and served by friendly staff. Our breakfasts were also perfect for preparing us for a day of hiking. While we were there, we took advantage of their on-site washer and dryer. I will absolutely recommend the Hotel Alpine to family and friends.
The washer and dryer were a little confusing to operate, but the on-site staff helped me out.

נהנינו לשבת בגינת המלון ולהנות מצפייה בנוף של הר האייגר, או לשבת במרפסת החדר ולצפות בנוף ההרים הירוקים.
ארוחת הבוקר עשירה ומגוונת.
המסעדה במלון מציעה ארוחת ערב שהיתה טעימה מאד.
שהינו במלון 8 לילות ונהנינו מאד.

I was disappointed with my stay. The breakfast was very poor and did not meet my expectations. The room was very hot, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. The staff were not very welcoming, which affected the overall experience. Although the hotel is located in the city center, it is situated on a steep uphill road, making it quite difficult to reach on foot. Overall, I would not choose to stay here again.

La réservation de l'hôtel par une Booking-Compagnie me parait absolument impersonnelle. A mon avis, vous êtes inutiles. J'ai toujours eu des contacts directs avec mes hôtels et l'argument de ces sociétés ,que passer par elles représente des avantages sur le cout des locations m'interroge. Il est évident que quelqu'un doit payer vos "services".
L'hôtel méritera d'autre part, mon seul reproche, d'un meilleur parking,
The location is just a short walk from the train station. We stayed in a balcony room with Mt. Eiger view. which was lovely. The Alpine breakfast was fresh and in good quality, with fresh made eggs. The breakfast room was cozy. We enjoyed our stay.
The start time for the breakfast could be a bit earlier, consider a lot of guests would like to start their day early after enjoying breakfast.
Well situated, clean and friendly staff. It's a old style family hotel with a living room with puzzles and games (so people can leave their phones in the room and enjoy some real time together)
Excellent location
Beautiful traditional chalet with garden and parking, bar available and outside seating. Bedroom fabulous, had a room with a balcony overlooking the mountains, stunning anytime of day.
Staff very friendly, a family run hotel, well furnished in a traditional style.
