Location in the City Center, Staff very friendly, parking offers good space, bed is cosy, nice Bar and Restaurant.
The room was large, and the price was fair. The location was excellent.
The pillows were oversized and an absolute nightmare to sleep at.
If you are in DImitrovgrad, you really dont have much of a choice. But hotel slaviani is a good choice. It well-kept, with firiendly stuff, A bar is opened until late hours. What else could you wish for.
Fantastic room with separate bedroom. Good location, 10-15 minutes walk from railway/bus station. Very clean and nice and super helpful receptionist. The breakfast was also very good, it was possible to choose from 5 alternatives, I choose the vegetarian one. Good to have vegetarian alternative, not to waste any meat. I would certainly choose Hotel Slaviani if I go there again.
Suggestions for improvement would be selling water (priority one, since I arrived late and did not bring any, and the bar was closed) and also some cold drinks. Suggestion 2 are the curtains, that was letting a lot of light into the room, if I would have stayed more nights I would need a darker room to sleep well. Suggestion 3 would be to supply or at least sell eye shields for people like me who needs a quite dark bedroom to sleep. Anyhow, they still deserve a 10!
Parking
It was too hot and there was no option to change the temperature.
The location and bed were superb.
Staff didn't speak English.
The Reception staff were nice, friendly and helpful. Sadly they finish at midnight.
They let me store my bicycle securely near reception.
Coffee was good
The hotel provided room service unfortunately the guy on night duty couldn't even provide me with some water. Room service finishes at some point 11 ish when kitchen staff finish and you pay 50% extra surcharge for it. Which In my opinion is too much
There was a mini bar fridge in the room that was on and empty.
No tea or coffee facilities or even water provided in room
Bedside light didn't work
Air con was on and noisy whether you wanted it on or not and kept me awake.
The Bathroom flooded when you used the showers as the drainage didn't work.
Pillows were inadequate
Room had damaged/repaired walls that looked unsightly
Was under par really for a £40 night room.
Breakfast was adequate but on the small side,
The Tea bags served with breakfast were undrinkable.
For me the most important thisn was the lovation and that I did not have to stay in nearby Haskovo. The hotel was very luxurious in the 90s and has certainly kept some style from then. The rooms are spacious, half of them have balconies. I really liked the wooden floors and the marble in the common areas. The restaurant is very reasonable. They have a la carte breakfast, which takes some 10 mins to prepare, so bear that in mind. They have free parking on the premises, which I found valuable. The staff was very helpful. Overall I would recommend the place if you have business to do in Dimitrovgrad.
There is air conditioning, but it was centrally run. As I was staying in June and it was unusually cold outside, I suspect the system was not turned on centrally. The pillows could be improved. The internet was a bit patchy, especially in the evening. i was staying in one of the last rooms of the corridor - perhaps this was the reason.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was heated well and clean .breakfast was nice .the location of the hotel was great.
The location
This is a basic hotel, not for tourists and our expectations. It is dark inside, tomb-like; staff are indifferent; windows in my room needed cleaning; breakfast is meagre and uninspired.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfy and in town, walking distance from train station.
As well as the beds, there was also sofas and a coffee table, lots of space. Breakfast included too.
Nothing
With our reservation I have called the hotel to request extra 3-4 pillows due to my acid reflux- we had just 4 in total left in the room. When I requested 2 more from the staff, they questioned me and they looked reluctant to give me some extra pillows. Eventually, they’ve got them from another room and I received acceptable number to cover my need. I had to request extra towels as we had only a face/hands small towel and something that should class as a bath towel tho it could cover only a man from waist line below. I had to go through the same reluctance and eventually I received another 2 towels, but I have been told that if they got marked from my dyed hair, I would have to pay 18 lev, which is about £8 and definitely not the cost for the state of the towel. We had to request some extra toilet roll as the one, provided by the hotel is absolutely rubbish, eventually we started to buy our own from the shops around.
The continental breakfast, offered by this hotel is absolute joke - you can choose between a few options, with small differences. You get 2 slices of toast, 3 thin slices of bad quality ham or 2 thin slices of feta cheese,3 paper thin slices of cheddar , 2 thin slices of tomato and cucumber and 1 boiled egg, a small pot of jam and 1 small pack of butter. This wouldn’t be fit breakfast for a child, not to mention for an adult. I can’t imagine this hotel to be more than 1 star, but it has 3. Our room wasn’t properly cleaned, we had cigarettes holes in our bed cover and even tho I’ve booked a room with balcony as I’m smoker myself, there had no sitting options on the balcony. The mini bar fridge was not in working order, the toilet got broken and the person sent by the reception to fix it told me to don’t flush the water too much, the receptionist gave us tv remote but the television was coded and not acceptable.
