The room was exactly what we needed, it was clean and it slept well
The 'other' door in our room leads to a passage where there were other rooms, and the staff or people there were absolutely unbearable! They were swearing, shouting, playing loud music the entire evening—nonstop! They were shouting and drinking in the courtyard right in front of our room, disturbing our peace all night long. They were rude, yelling at each other, and the music was blaring until dawn. We couldn't get a moment of peace or rest—completely outrageous! They were stomping up and down the passage, with an opening at the end of passage.
The staff were friendly and tried to accommodate us when we reached out, although the solutions didn’t always work and we were still charged in full for everything.
The rooms are old and very basic. It smells stale and dusty when you enter - almost like they are not used very often.
The hotel is VERY noisy. There is a restaurant bar right outside the rooms that plays music loudly all night. Some of the windows in the bedrooms can’t close properly making it even harder to block out the noise and it can become very cold at night. The toilet in room 10 also makes a noise that you can’t turn off.
There is a wedding venue right outside room 3 and the bedroom windows look out on the reception hall and braai area. We asked to move when we saw them set up because the bar already kept us up the night before so we could only imagine that this will be far worse.
The beds and pillows are old and uncomfortable and the plug points have been painted over making it hard to insert plugs. You must also bring your own adapters even though this a hotel they don’t cater for travels in this way.
My elderly parents had to leave a day earlier and we communicated this to the hotel a week before check in. They were very accommodating and said that this is not a problem at all, but then they still charged us for the room after agreeing that we can cancel it.
On Sunday we were woken up by loud piano music and singing. The location may be central but it also makes for a very noisy stay.
The bar and live music was excellent. Breakfast was great
2nd time staying here, love the friendliness of the hotel and staff, couldn’t fault them on their exceptional customer service, both at the hotel and the restaurant and the bar!!
Also they now have secure parking which is great!
There’s not much to say here, excepting for the fact that the Wi Fi isn’t the best and the air con didn’t work.
Will definitely recommend them to anybody as the hostess went out of her way to accommodate us. She even provided us with some great food which was much appreciated.
The rooms here are very spacious, nothing fancy but everything you need. Owner operated establishment so great care is put into the place.
