Disappointing experience
Pros:

The Victoria Hotel still maintains some of its old-world charm, however, so much can be done to bring that historic feeling back. The bed was really comfortable with crisp clean linen.

Cons:

I was really disappointed that my husband and I could not enjoy dinner at the hotel. The staff recommended a restaurant down the street. Also, breakfast at R175 p/p was too steep and we did not even consider it! The carpets up to the rooms need serious cleaning. Although we could park the car safely at the back of the hotel, I did not feel safe in the area.

Very pleasant staff, the hotel is old but it’s part of the vibe.
Pros:

It is in the center, close to necessary shops and businesses, the linnen was clean and staff were very helpful.

Cons:

An elevator and secure parking would have been nice. Also, they don’t have a restaurant, so no breakfast.

For the price I paid, it was certainly one of the most unpleasant stays I ever experienced!
Pros:

The room was very clean.

Cons:

One-ply toilet paper at the price of the room? Carpet powder used and the smell was overwhelming! Noise from people using the Hotel's bar, no safe parking for my vehicle had to park in the street outside the Hotel! The matrasses were so hard, you are unable to sleep on them! We managed to sleep 3-4 hours per night, due to noise, strong smell in room and uncomfortable matrasses.

All in all, average but hotel in need of an uplift and to serve breakfast as advertised.
Pros:

The location was good as it was close enough to travel to my business meetings.

Cons:

The hotel is old and can see it is not well maintained. The hotel room carpet seemed old and grubby. There was no breakfast available, nor dinner, even though breakfast is advertised on booking.com with a tick, which is then included in the price; had to go out to seek a place for food. Once paid on booking.com, the confirmation booking stated there is no meal option with this room!!!
