Beautiful river location. Wonderful staff, clean rooms and a great breakfast. Will be returning
the view
Staff were really good, tried their best to accommodate.
first room not private. neighbouring villa could see straight into the room, curtains very thin and not enough material to close adequately for privacy. bathroom lovely and comfortable bed. view..... obscured by neighbour, balcony and tin roof. AC quiet and adequate but had to get out of bed in night if needed altering due to the fact that remote couldn't recieve signal to AC.
2 nights spent before being moved. 2nd bedroom. View perfect. AC old and noisy. bed uncomfortable, causing bad backs. bedding clean but old and bobbly. left wardrobe doors open due to damp in bottom would have causef cothes to smell. bathroom... an experience, hand held shower over bath, blind covers extractor fan.
Asked to see the manager said he would be there at 8am. He never arrived due to a carnival where he lived. must have been a good carnival because he didn't arrive in the 5 days we were there. left a day early had had enough.
Asked for an iron and ironing board. iron arrived and needed cleaning, we were told not to use it on new clothes use on old ones first. then they brought another iron up, wich was adequate. ironing board arrived, parts missing struggled to get it up, the house manager tried and failed, took the board away and said he would send us another one, never arrived.
lift not working for last 2 days said it was being serviced (out of service- broke)
The hotel needs money spending on it.
Far too expensive for what it is.
Should be called Faulty Towers.
Would we come back... NO
Facilities and staff behaviour
Location
It was close to the beach. It was a base and at the price good value, pleasant staff. The room was large, clean and comfortable.
Nowhere to relax as such, to get to the property wasn’t very aesthetically pleasing, rough road with derelict buildings, which is beyond the properties control to an extent.
The location is good as near the beach and the town. Lovely view of the river from the balcony. It was quiet and felt safe. The chalet room was nicely presented and, although basic, had all you needed. Big bed, good shower, strong air con. The room was clean and serviced every day.
The manager was not friendly and welcoming on arrival (only concerned with how we were to pay the bill) and was equally surly on departure - not a good vibe. Other staff were fine.
Chalets were very crowded together.
The bed needed a mosquito net - despite all precautions we were bitten every night.
Bed linen and towels were not great quality.
Given breakfast wasn’t included and the chalet, although nice was basic, it seemed a little overpriced for the quality.
The location was really nice with the Sal river touching the property. Also restaurants offeri9ng various choices at a walking distance.
Breakfast could have been better with more options.
good ambience in the cottage rooms
the upstair room is just ok
Very scenic being by the river at first was very peaceful
A film crew turned up on our second night about midnight set up all their equipment outside our door they kept us awake all night it was horrendous and the staff did not say anything to us or tell them to be respectful to other guests it spoilt the whole trip
